Iowa roads

Anyone taken 151 dubuque to iowa city then 63 down to ottumwa down to jefferson city then 54 to osage beach? Then 54 to 65 to springfield My wife wants to take a different set of side roads from Mn border to branson and stop and see two old friends in the middle of nowhere on our way south. I remember lake ozarks on cycles and it does not come to mind as a great road for 42' pulling a pickup with cycle in it.Thanks.

I have been on most of those roads. 151 isn't too bad to Cedar Rapids. I don't know how you plan to get to Iowa City with it and Hwy 63 has changed considerably over the past 20 years. It no longer goes through the farming communities around Oskaloosa, Cedar and Fremont Iowa. I travel each week from Cedar Rapids to Oskaloosa. Usually take I 380 South to I 80 and then 21 straight South through What Cheer and to Hwy 92. From there it's County roads to Hwy 23 near Fremont and then South to Ottumwa. The County road through Delta is quite rough in spots. If you go west to Rose Hill it's a better road. New for the first few miles south of Rose Hill. Try to do most of your travel during the daylight hours or plan to stop for an hour or so at dusk. The Deer are quite active at Dusk and dawn.

I travel US 151 from near my home to I-80 frequently ... it is 4 lane divided limited access between Dubuque and Cedar Rapids ... beyond Cedar Rapids it is a good 2 lane road to Amana Colonies

There is some good eatin wait'n to be had at the Amana Colonies ... there is parking for your rig and toad too

Lake of the Ozarks is wide open now

South of HY 70 63 and 54 are four lane now days and a by pass through Osage Beach. I would suggest Missouri roads you mentioned are all good to go....
