Allegro Red question

I'm about to make a bid on an Allegro Red 38ft. In my 30 plus years of RVing I have always owned a gas rig. My question for Allegro owners is: Is the Cummins 340 engine sufficient to handle the mountains of the West? How heavy a toad do you pull with your Allegro?
It is a beautiful MH, and the floorplan fits my family's needs.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

I just this summer completed a trip from NC to Grand Canyon and Yellowstone and back, towing a Honda CRV and had no problems with the steep grades up or down. Please note I have the 34QFA and the CRV only weighs appx 3200lb, so the ISB 6.7 maybe didn't have to work as hard as it would have with a 38 footer. I have read of many others who do have the 38 and they have no complaints about power.
You might ask this question on tiffinrvnetwork.com and get more responses.

We have a 36QSA with the Cummins 340. pulling a GMC Terrain @ 3800 lbs. All the RED's have the same GVWR, though I am sure the 38 actually weighs more than the 36, 34, and 33's. We have been as far west as Williams, AZ, thru the Davis Mountains:2funny: in Texas. There were some "hills" in AZ that we passed 18 wheelers on but we were only going 45-50 MPH. Of course some Prevost's blew by us, but in the race of the tortoise and the hare, we were definitely the tortoise - slow but sure. No experience with REAL mountains.:thumb:

40' Allegro Bus 400 Cummins, we just got home from a 4 month tour of the west.
No problem with power, towing a Jeep Liberty.
