JDM, you should at least talk to them, however, read and understand the contract before you sign it. http://irv2.infopop.cc/images/wink.gif

jdm, I am not familiar with that particular dealership but several years ago I was attempting to sell my motorhome and LaMesa RV contacted me offering to buy mine. Their offer was to say the least rediculous... so don't get your hopes up.

That being said, here's hoping that Capital RV Sales comes through with an acceptable solution for you.

Funny that you should ask. Or co-incidental to say the least.

I too was contacted by this company yesterday. I had our coach advertised in a couple online areas and they got my phone number and email from there. Anyhow, like you, I never heard of them, but when Johnny called on the phone, I gave him the benefit of listening to his pitch. Personally, I think their fee of $399 is much to high.

I looked at their website and inventory and found the exact same coach advertised on rvtrader.com, also listed with capitalrvsales.com. I know used coaches don't sell like hotcakes, but I have been watching this particular coach on rvtrader.com for about 5 weeks now. In my opinion, rvtrader.com would have more hits, but even with dual listings the coach isn't selling.

Johnny, says they are a licensed dealer in Florida, whereas a competitor, classyrv.com for example is not. He also said that at my low asking price, his boss might even buy my coach outright. I told him I wanted to buy a bigger rig and he offered to check into units I was looking for, talk to his boss and call me today with an offer or trade in option. Within an hour of our phone conversation, I emailed him an offer to trade my coach for their listing (the same one I had been watching on rvtrader.com) plus some cash but have heard nothing from him. Surprise, surprise. Mind you, I still have not paid the $399. I am now a potential buyer not a unsolicited seller who they want to collect $399 from.

At the risk of sounding too pessimistic, I have been hit on by several so called specialists in resales only to be disappointed. Two of them have called me almost daily for a total of at least 4-6 times each to persuade me to list with them from $189 to $259. They say that my asking price is too low and that my coach will sell fast with them. They sell hundreds of coaches a month, but it seems funny to me that I can not search for a list of recent sales to confirm that. One company actually did a copy and paste of my ad to their site, emailed me the address so I could look at it. The next morning he called me to say they had lots of people look at my ad overnight but he had to pull the ad if I did not give him a credit card and payment for the listing. I told him, don't let the listing hit you in the a** as you pull it.

In my personal opinion, they only want to collect an up front fee to list your coach. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Mind you, I am NOT saying that this particular company is anything less than reputable, but when presented with an offer to buy/trade my unit for one of their listings, I have not heard back from them. At this point I have not lost anything other than a little bit of my time. Thank goodness I did not give them my cc number to be charged $399. Like someone said here, read the fine print, eyes WIDE open and procede with caution.

Do I really expect this company to buy my coach for a reasonable price? No. Do I really expect to hear back from them with a reasonable trade to purchase one of their listings? No. Am I going to give them $399 for a listing? No. But, hey ... that is just me and you should not be influenced by my decision.

Sorry, to be so long winded, but the long version of an explaination or experience is sometimes best understood this way. Good luck in your choice and better luck in the sale of your coach.

JDM, Here is a listing of RV dealers in Palm Harbor. Also, there is no Capital RV listed anywhere in Florida. Yellow Page Listing, Recreational

Here is a listing of Capitol ??
for Palm Harbor Fl.

Do they have an address other than a PO Box number? Doesn't look too good to me.
