Trailer jack help
New poster here. I have gleaned much valuable info from these forums, but I can't find a specific solution to this situation. Looking to gather suggestions from this site's users.

Just bought a new tilt bed car trailer to tow a car behind the RV. On it's first trip, the trailer tongue jack "unwinds" a bit, bringing jack foot lower to ground. Looking for a easy way to secure the jack from lowering while in motion. I've thought of drilling a hole through both outer & inner jack tubes and use a pin with clip.

Does anyone have any other ideas to solve this issue?

Most trailer jacks pivot 90 so extension wouldn't be an issue. Any jack that stays vertical could potentially ground out when going over a bump or driveway entrance. You could secure the jack with a wire loop over the end or put a hook on the moveable section secured by a cord to upper section. Drilling a hole could cause problems for the screw section.

Tie the handle in place so it can't rotate.

Bungi cord the handle

Welcome to the forum.
Perhaps post a picture of the tongue/jack. Like BFLinn181 noted, even fully retracted seems there could be a clearance issue.
All good ideas though.

Be well.
