New Ford 450 engine noise

Is this engine noise normal? Do you know what it is?

This is a new Ford 450 in Thor Class C Outlaw, 2800 miles.

Thank you

can't hear it so don't know. can you please be more specific on your concern?
ford turns high rpm so that might be what you hear .

Ford V10's are stupidly loud for the RPM's they turn

Shouldn't be too bad rolling down the highway. Start climbing and they really scream. I installed some sound deadening material on my engine dog house and got new speakers.

We added 5 Star tuning to our 2004 RV and it runs quieter and has smoother shifting.

My 2017 is Loud. Just the nature of the beast. the V10 is a loud motor and you are right next to it.

You are ready for your first oil change if you haven't done it already. Bring it to ford for it and they can check it out while they do the oil change.

If your talking about a rattle at startup, then yes its normal. Its piston slap and has been a known issue in Triton engines.

CWJK55, Thank you for adding our product to your coach and for sharing your experience with our tune!

I have a video of the sound but I can't get the file small enough to post. I have edited the video down to a second but the system states it is still too large. Without the video my post is worthless. Sorry

sign up to youtube for free and upload it there then post the link. You can put the whole clip on there then.

Video of sound on the link
This link has the video of the clicking sound. What is this? Normal?

New engine.

Thank you

I don't think it is an internal engine noise--sounds more like a relay clicking to me.

careyj1 01-20-2017 07:02 PM

Is that normal for a relay to sound like that? Thank you

wingnut60 01-20-2017 07:28 PM

Well, relay noise is not normal. But I don't feel it is mechanical--if it is more or less as often as in the vid, then should be no problem for a Ford dealer to track it down.
The only other thing that I can think of is a hydraulic lifter sticking...
