Adding 2nd Awning to AB

We are down to 2 AB 40AP, one has the second awning but is missing a few other options we want that are on the other 40AP.

Has anyone added the 2nd awning? Would I have to take it to Red Bay to get done? Or is this something that I could take to a Paramount awning dealer to get installed at a later date? Seems to me this can be done but...

Thanks

I'd expect it would depend on if Tiffin installed the backing plates under your roof skin so you can install the awning mount plates into a strong anchorage. That awning is heavy and when extended, puts a lot of torque on the roof and mounting plates. I'd imagine Tiffin engineers MIGHT have information on if these backing plates were in place even though no awning is connected to them.

As a result of a fight I had with Tiffin about getting enough angle on the awnings to shed water when extended, I believe there may be at least two different mount plates. If you can get a second awning installed just be sure you ask for and get the correct mount plates. For a good discussion see the Tiffin Network at A Part of the TiffinRVNetwork • Login

When I asked about it I was told that the 2nd awning on the 40AP cannot be done after the fact.

They don't put in the roof supports and the wiring for it is not there.

That's what I was concerned about. The wiring issue I think you could work around, but if those anchor plates are not installed before the plywood and fiberglass skin is laminated on, you're SOL.
