It's only available on 2008 Dutch Stars, not earlier models. If you're not buying a new 2008, then it's a moot point.

My understanding is that it's all done in the steering column electronically.

Everyone that has driven a coach with CD, is impressed. and I haven't heard of any problems.

I wish I had it.

You would have to ask Newmar if you could opt out, but I believe everyone wants it. http://irv2.infopop.cc/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif

To my knowledge there has been zero problems even with all the units now out there. I only know of one that required a minor adjustment at time of delivery but none after they left the factory. Your appreciation of the CD will only come fully after about 1,000 miles of varied driving conditions. After that, you will never want anything else.

DITTO....DITTO.....DITTO.

The '06 NOT having Comfort Drive would be reason enough for ME not to buy one...

I've been in most ANY condition you can dream up with this coach, whether it's mountains, long straight aways with the cross winds EVEN slid down a mountain a ways in West Virginia (another entire story...LOL) and I LOVE the Comfort Drive.
It does it's thing and you're the benefactor...

Having been someone who couldn't drive more than three hours at a clip without stopping due in part to "wrestling" the wheel, I can tell you that I drove all the way from Virginia Beach to Saint Augustine,FL a couple of weeks ago and only stopped to put fuel in it....
Now THAT'S sayin' something!!

As Peter mentioned, it takes about 1,000 to 2,000 miles to completely appreciate the Comfort Drive. I just did 1,500 and am totally satisfied. It is so much better than anything else I've driven - driving is fun!

John, Need your input also in AGM battery posting. Rumour has it you went AGM and quite that acid habit. What's the scoop?

Peter, HERE is the AGM post where John detailed his reasons for purchasing the AGM's...

I don't think there is another column that would fit in the same place, so opting out is not feasable. Newmar has chosen to make it a standard on the models that use it, so good or bad, you get it. Kinda like having pie and ice cream forced on you. http://irv2.infopop.cc/images/laugh.gif

That happens to ME at the Country Table every time I'm in Nappanee!!
