Vent Fan install

I have no idea how to go about installing a vent fan in my RV. I have one in the bunk area over the cab in my Class C.....have one in rear bedroom, and one in bathroom.....I need one installed in the living area. Right now there is a vent that can be opened but no fan is there and I do not know if any wiring is available at or near the vent.....Any ideas will be appreciated.

there is lots of youtube videos about installing roof vent fans, if you have a light close to the roof vent you can get 12vdc power from there to run your new fan.

I removed a skylight in our shower and installed a Fantastic Fan. The roof opening was a direct fit for the fan and I fed the power wire through the ceiling panel to a nearby 12V light and hooked it up directly. I used roof lap sealant to seal the flange to roof contact.

I was wondering if any connection wiring would be close to the vent opening. I am not good with electricity....the dealership wants $600.00 dollars plus the cost of the fan to install. Don't want to pay that much for it.

How close is the nearest light from the fan location? If you didn't want to hide the wire behind the wall, you could use plastic conduit that sticks to the ceiling with tape from a light to the fan. If the opening is the same size, a handy man could install in 2 hours.

Pull down the frame of your existing vent. I found the 12 volt wire at mine and installed a vent fan there.
