HVAC and florescent lighting

My name is Ron and We own a 2003 Fleetwood Revolution. We have been having problems over the last three years with our hvac system. Starting with our digital thermostate. We replaced it 3 times in three years thinking the thermostate was the problem. A couple of months ago I had a problem with my rear air conditioner and since having the front one replaced two years ago we took it to Camping World and they found that we had an air conditioner full of wasps. They got rid of the bees and we took it home. I spent some time with Coleman and found out that I should not have to replace the AC. All I had to do is look into the capacitor compartment and see if they were burnt out. They were so I through Amazon and $63.00 I replaced all three cap. and It runs fine, but I still had the problem with the thermostate. Their head tech told me that the ballasts from my flouresent lighting were sending out a frequency that disrupted the thermostate. I changed all of my lighting to LED's and now have no problems. Both AC's and both furnaces run fine.
I hope this helps anyone that has this problem..
RV on!

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

When we had the older 5-button CCC Dometic thermostat I had to turn off all the florescents in order to reset it. Otherwise it would show an error code!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless! :thumb::D

Yep, several reports of this over the years. Even some cheap LED's can do it.

I replace the fluorescent tubes with cheap LED and the satellite dish went bonkers. Had to switch back to the fluorescent on the ones nearest the dish in the meantime. So, yes, RF interference does mess with electronics.
