Coil springs w/air bellows
We have a 94 Itasca. It seems a little mushy in the front when turning sharp and quick stops. I noticed the air bellows in the coil springs and they have the tire style needle valves. What is a good
pressure setting for these?

dont know your rig but my front end weighs 5300 lbs i run 60 psi
is it a p-30 or p-32 il check back

gvwr 11,800 gawr front 4,300 lbs rear 7,500 lbs. can't find any chassi info
other than vin#.

I had a 96 motor home on a 95 P30 chassis. The vehicle owners manual described how to set the pressure in the airbags.

The owner’s manual gives the following ranges:

4,300 LB front suspensions = 10 psi to 50 psi
5,000 LB front suspensions = 40 psi to 50 psi
5,300 LB front suspensions = 50 psi to 80 psi
5,500 LB front suspensions = 60 psi to 100 psi

For the proper adjustment it says to inflate the air bags to the maximum pressure for your vehicle, load the motor home, park on a level surface and then reduce the air pressure as needed to level the motor home but don’t reduce it below the minimum.

I have seen other schemes for adjusting the pressure per ride quality, but the 1995 Chevrolet Forward Control Chassis owner’s manual said to do it as shown above.

I don't know if it's accurate or not but other posts have said the pressure in the bags affects the alignment and you should have it checked when you get the pressure set. The manual did not mention that however.

when i bought my rv front were blown i instaled new ones what a difference then i added rear ones

dont know how to fix my link i do all my repairs myself that site explains a lot on the gm chassis if you ever have questions ask this is the best site with lots of helpful people

I have a 1990 Mallard with a Chevy P30, 454 V8 with an auto. I too had a mushy feeling in the front when going around a corner. It felt like I was being pushed off the road when passed by a big rig at highway speeds. It looked like it was sagging in the front on a level lot. I thought about replacing the bags and springs but decided to replace just the springs with heavy duty springs and I trashed the air bags. Now my RV sets level, the ride is great and it corners very well. The big rigs don't push me around any more either. I personally would recommend replacing your springs and ditching the bags.
