I have a glorious announcement!

She got dewinterized yesterday! Antifreeze flushed out, batteries reinstalled, systems check done.

Now for some cleanup and hitting a CG somewhere soon!:thumb:

I don't know exactly where you live, but I got the RV out of storage about 2 weeks ago. I flushed out the lines, put the batteries back in, and got the pressure washer out and gave the trailer a good bath. Even sent away for some spray wax for the pressure washer. Wanted everything done before knee surgery. Run the furnace, frig, water heater and stove. Slide the rooms out, and lubed them. Lubed the electric stab jacks. Then, the night before surgery, they called for a low of 25! So, I had to go out and hook up the electric heat, and set the thermostat in the RV at 55 degrees. Everything was fine, no water froze.

I just hope you have better luck with your weather then I did. Seem Ma Nature knows how bad I want to go camping, and slapped my hand!!!

Don't blame ya for being grumpy. The weather here has not been cooperative. I got the tires on the new to us tv today and the rails out of the old one. Once the hitch is installed we are GONE.

I had that happen last year. Part of why I waited later this year.

I'm full-time these days, but I can remember the anticipation of getting the rig ready to go! Good for you all, happy trails, I'm feelin' the love!:dance:

We are going to Parker AZ tomorrow, then to Lake Havasu after that. Sun, boating and relaxing for the next two months....Sold the MH and got a 5th Wheel.

Did you guys realize that you can save money and time by NOT putting the RV antifreeze in the system. All yo really need to do is blow the system out, completely, then leave the faucets open. Make sure that you drain the tanks completly. Poor the RV antifreeze down the sinks, shower and toilete. This ensures the p-traps have some in them. You would only use about a gallon a year. That way you only have to fill the potable water tank with water and pressurize the system to verify all is good. Oh yeah sanitize it also, which you should be doing anyway.
I've been doing it for years and it works fine, the key is the complete blowing of the water lines and leaving the faucets open.

My system takes about four gallons or so. I do both, blow the lines out then run antifreeze through to take care of puddling in low spots. And with the valve system I built it's easy as pie to get the antifreeze in there.

Takes ten minutes, costs less than $15 and is worth my peace of mind.

The sanitizer is in there now, I'll flush it through with straight water when it's time.
