Hi:

Just finished installing my US gear Brake controller system in my 2003 Scottsdale (towing a 2007 Ford Escape 2WD manual tranny). I found the MH end was rather easy after the "probs" in the "TOAD" http://irv2.infopop.cc/groupee_commo...on_biggrin.gif

Anyway, if anyone is interested in my experiences, I would be happy to answer questions, and/or post pics.

I used a 6 conductor connector in parallel with the factory installed 7 Pin connector (thus using the "stock" Blue OX coily cord for lights and brakes).

I used Blue OX base plate, light kit (highly recommended http://irv2.infopop.cc/images/2thumbsup.gif) and towbar.

I took my time (worked on it in spare time for about the last 3 weeks about 18 hours in total and I didn't have to "Re-Do" anything........ That's a switch http://irv2.infopop.cc/images/laugh.gif)

Ditto on your UTB and Blue Ox findings. I did my UTB install in about the same time over about the same 3 week spare-time period (but I had a couple re-do's!) Congrats on your flawless install!!http://irv2.infopop.cc/images/thumb.gif

I managed to rig up brackets affixed to existing bolts to make my UTB a zero-holes-drilled install. I also added completely separate "trailer lights" on the toad as my tow lights making that install a non-invasive zero-holes-drilled install too.

Curious as to your pin-outs on both the 7pin and the 6pin cords. Could you post a diagram or table? I wonder if I may be cheating myself as I too have a UTB, and a REMCO pump and independent tail lights and I got by using only one 7pin connector to feed them all.

1) left - brown (default)
2) right - red (default)
3) tail - blue (default)
4) ground - black (default - can't have enough grounds)
5) 12v - white (modified to be REMCO 12v feed from REMCO coach controller instead of straight 12v)
6) elect brake - green (used as the UTB brake signal from the UTB coach controller)
7) aux - yellow the center pin (used for the REMCO coach controller)

note - My UTB is powered completely from the toad. As an intermittent 20amp load, it's not a big deal and keeps the UTB powered in a break-away. The REMCO and tow lights are powered completely from the coach and thus power up just by plugging in the connector.

1 GD Ground White
2 S Brake Blue (in harness)
3 TM Tail Lights Brown
4 A Aux (+12V) Orange (charging)
5 LT Left Turn Yellow
6 RT Right Turn Green
7 Not Used

The six conductor wiring is standard layout as per manufacture's liturature and web writeups.
