Here are pictures of the back-up spot lights I mounted on the trailer. The Alfa already came with back-up lights, although all they did was let the person behind me know I was backing up. When I put the Alfa in the back yard a night, I need someone with a flashlite to light up the wall so I can back safely. Now with the spots, they shine right down on the wall/ground area so I can back it in safely. Also, they will allow me to judge the back of the trailer at night anywhere I am trying to back it.

I was able to mount them just below the rear lights and wire them into the back-up system. I replaced the 7.5 amp fuse with a 20 amp, and it works like a charm. The lights are tucked up high enough to be out of the way of everything.

I went to Walmart and bought a set of driving lights, $17.99. I have the same lights on the back bumper of my truck. They are bright with a decent beam and adjustable.

Mike,

The lower white part of the taillamps, just like on our trucks. There is a bulb in there as a notification to drivers behind you that it's coming at you.

The new spots come on with the factory back-ups, only angled down and out.

oh yea, i didn't catch that. i guess that white lense isn't there to light up the license plate, so it is the backup light ! http://irv2.infopop.cc/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif

I bet your new ones are in a whole different league of giving off useful light for the driver. And that slight angle out to them is good thinking.

Chet, a popular cartoon for our age group way back when was "the Jetsons". That cartoon may have effected us all, but yea..... i'm starting to think a couple guys here watched it an aweful lot http://irv2.infopop.cc/groupee_commo...on_biggrin.gif
