I had the same problem, traced it back to a fuse located to the panel left of the drivers seat. Not easy to get at. Check the switch it may be corroded or bad.

Yes I can push the latch tang and it stays closed. The opens when you pull up on the door handle. It just does not latch closed when I shut the door.

Not the jacks. I know what that sounds like. Had an issue a few years back with it alarming. It was low in fluid. Filled and problem solved. Mine is definitely the park brake sensor.

Jimmy a little trick to help with the oil misting of the radiator besides extending the slobber tube is to only use 19 quarts of oil instead of 20. This really helps limiting the misting.
