once you have raised the jack it should stay in...
once you have raised the jack it should stay in place. The springs are for raising the jacks by pushing fluid out and not to lower the jacks.

"Have you driven a ford lately" seems to apply here. IMO you cant judge the fords based on a chassis thats 7-10 years old although I owned 2 fords chassis in the mid to late 90's and had no problems....
