When I connect the wires to positive post I can hear a small motor running on the other side of battery compartment. I am currently in an arm sling so I cannot crawl underneath to investigate.

power restored!

Thanks to everyone for their responses. It was a 5 amp fuse in the battery compartment fuse box.
