I had the same thing happen to me on a 2005 Expedition with a c- 7 the elbow that goes into the muffler rotted out and fried my inverter.

It wasnt maintaining well on any sort of incline , not severe , however on hills I previously had no issues with I was now losing 5-10 MPH. My torque that I had come to love so much is back!
