Sounds like you blew a fuse. The new fan motor may carry a heavier load than the old one and all of the lights are on the same circuit. Try going to a heavier fuse, once you find it.

I've had both the Black & Decker 18V and the Ryobi 18V. Both are excellent w/ quick recharge and plenty of power. If you buy one of any of the major brands, at least 18 volts, you can't go wrong.
