Since you had this problem when you got the MH, it could have the wrong motor in it.
If its wired different and the bracket is bonded to positive, rather then negative, it will blow fuses when...

The only thing the 3 bolts are doing is grounding...

The only thing the 3 bolts are doing is grounding the motor.

Its possible that the polarity is reversed on the wiring.
