Maybe it isn’t. But I’ve been using the same hitch for 17 years. I’d rather damage the hitch than damage myself trying to lift it out of the truck.

Normally I leave the hitch in the bed. If I need to remove it I leave it hitched to the trailer, remove the pins attaching it the rails, then lift it out using the fifth wheel landing gear.
