2005 HR Ambassador AC only blows to floor

The AC on my 2005 Ambassador 40PLQ blows hard and cold, but sometimes it only goes to the floor vent when you set it to come out the dash vent. There seems to be no control over it from the panel, except sometimes after engine start, it does come out the dash while other times it doesn't. Is there an air control valve somewhere? The dash control seems to be an electrical switch, so is this an electrically controlled valve?

All the Monaco coaches I'm familiar with are vacuum
operated .
Since diesels don't make vacuum like a gas engine does ,
the vacuum is produced by a small electric pump .
This pump will be located outside on the wall above
your generator , sometimes called a fire wall .
It is black and will have a small hose going into a
plastic ball that is about 6 in diameter -- this is a
reservoir.

Now I don't believe your problem is out there but
that would be the easiest and first place to look .
The reason I don't feel it is a lack of vacuum is because
the loss of vacuum is supposed to result in air coming from
the defrosters , that's the default for safety reasons .
You most likely have a problem behind the control
panel , a loose or leaking hose .

What's puzzling to me is that the dash air routing control is an electrical switch (ie, it has wires on it, not hoses), so I'm assuming there's an electrically controlled air routing valve somewhere.
