Holiday Rambler 'A' opinions please
I am looking at purchasing a 2006 Holiday Rambler Admiral, 37 foot gas with 20k mileage. Basically they want $70k for it. It was garaged for its life until it ended up on the lot as a trade in.
I have looked for reviews of this rig online but cannot seem to find any. I have not had any dealings with Holiday Rambler, so I am really looking for some information opinions and experiences regarding this rig.
I have looked it over some, though a much closer inspection will follow if we figure it worth pursuing. What I have found so far are minor issues easily fixed /or not, depending on my OCD at the time.

We just traded a 2006 Admiral SE in on another Motorhome. If not for the 4000# towing capacity we would still own it. It had plenty of power and seemed very well built. We owned it for about 5 years and had very few minor problems. It had 34000 miles when we traded and the chassis was in excellent shape.

Holiday Rambler has always made a nice Class A. The 05/06/07/08 were very good years. We love ours. Just check everything out and make sure they do a GOOD PDI.

The Holiday Rambler Admiral is a very nice motorhome.
One of the best built gassers from that era IMO.
$70k might be a bit steep for an '06. Do a search on RVT.com and it will give you some perspective.
Last fall I bought an '04 Admiral SE off a Used RV lot in Florida for $35k
Had 28,000 miles and was in great shape except tires which needed replacing.
Great motorhome but do the research and make an offer based on what you are comfortable with.

It's a nice RV. Is it the 3-slide floor plan or the 2-slide? The 3-slide comes close to $70k if in absolute top condition, but I would make a lower offer. The 2-slide model should be at least $10-15kk less.

We recently sold my '01 HR Admiral and upgraded to a DP. We owned it for 10 years and have many great memories. The '03 DP we bought is also a HR.
$70k does seem like a high price for an '06. Check www.nadaguides.com also.

When buying a used unit it's always about maintenance records and an independent inspection. Spending a few dollars now may save you a lot of headaches later on.

Check the walls and floor for rot especially around d and p windows

If you're going to finance it, it probably is out of the banks window due to its age. If they do, they will probably only loan up to the low retail amount of the basic model before options are added. That can really make a difference in what the listed asking price is and the amount the bank will loan you.
If the rig was well cared for, it should be a good investment BUT have it inspected before committing to the purchase. A couple hundred to hire someone to inspect it will save you thousands on and after the purchase.

Which chassis is it built on? Like the others, IMO 70K is waay too much for an 06. My 2010 Suncruiser 37F is in the classifieds for 20K more, and it is a great floor plan in great condition.

To give you an idea on price, I am looking at an 05 HR Admiral, 37' with 3 slides, under 20K miles on the WH chassis in very good condition. The dealer is asking $50K. I'll send a link to the ad if you want it.

The price sounds out of line and I will guarentee the dealer is more than likely less than 40 into it.
