Does anyone have any experience with the 2012 Vacationer with slide-out issues? I am nervous now and that is not a good feeling with the money we are spending!

- For all of you with HRV's after 2007-8, I do feel sorry for you, it seems the quality has really gone down hill? I have an 04 and love it, no real issues as of yet (knock on wood) :-)

We just purchased the HR Vacationer in March, the layout I love, but my husband hates it. I am starting to agree with him.
The slide on ours is also gouging the floor, We have leaks on on slide, there are holes in the floor where the wiring is. There are also light coming in on our bedroom slide.
But I have to say the best is so far, we have used it twice. The generator does not stay on when we are traveling so we get no ac in the unit, expect for the front, and when it does go on it blows hot air so everyone in the back is sitting in a 90 plus unit. (We are in Florida).
We are going to have to bring it in to the dealer, but we are really not liking it so far.
Wish I was not so cheap, I should have bought the tiffin that I wanted or the southwind my husband wanted.
I guess it true what they say, you get what you pay for.

Really sorry to hear anyone say they should have bought a Southwind instead of a Monaco. Monaco owners would love to see a return to Monaco's glory days before MCC went bankrupt--had high hopes Navistar would do it, and now its the parent company of Fleetwood ASV? But it doesn't sound too good for the Monaco gassers, anyway. Hope you can get some satisfaction from Monaco? Monaco Coach

Cheap? I didn't think this was a cheap unit at all! What don't you like about the layout? I will have to check my bedroom real close to see if I have that issue too. Where are the holes in the floor? I haven't noticed that either, but will be on the look out. Ours is still in the shop. New battery today and new floor on order. Funny thing is that it was getting good reviews from what I was reading and they were hoping these new models was going to be the beginning of getting Monaco back to what it was years ago. You would have thought they would have put more into quality control if that was truly the case!!!

The cheap part I meant was that Holiday Rambler was giving better deals to the dealer we worked with to get them sold. We could not work the numbers on other units that we were interested in.
The lay out I Love!! have no problem with that. You did not say what year yours was.
The light comes in on the floor near the bedroom, you see it when the slide is open, as far as the holes, they are where the wire tubes go through.
We were told that is was a good unit. I don't know if this is the first one they have produced in a long time or what, but there are things they can do a lot better. Oh yea and there leaks on one of the sides.

We have the 36DBT. I wanted a table and chair set, and an oven. I am just about the only camper I know thta uses the oven all the time!! I am a baker! I liked the simplicity of the layout. Didn't need a fireplace. I loved the back bathroom (I always gravitate towards the campers with big bathrooms). Our unit had every add on possible with the exception of the TV in the driving area.
Just picked her up last night. of course not everything got done despite our many many texts and emails and phone calls! Frustrsting!!! I talked to our salesman and he is going to see all the repairs through when it goes back in in a couple of weeks.

Sometimes it's all about the service department or the tech working on the coach. have been to a few shops here in the kansas city area and found some are for sure better than others. some appear unorganized and one place left dirty finger prints everywhere. when i mentioned it to the service manager he said just remind me next time and we will take care of you?? not sure what that meant as i may not return there. thought they would have sent the tech to wipe of the dirty trail left behind.

Yes a good service department is very much needed. Our sales rep gave us a name of another service guy and told us to only use him. He said he is very good and very responsive to customers. The sales rep we have has sold over 50 units to a group of us campers. There are around 15 couples and we have all climbed the rv ladder with most of us starting out with popups!. We are the first couple to take the plunge and buy the Class A. We were originally looking at a Class C but changed our minds thinking it would be too small of a space when we start hitting the road for months at a time. We took our 5th wheel on a mini road trip and found out we were frustrated with trying to find stops to do stuff and thought the Class A would allow me to get up and move if needed without searching for a rest stop. first road trip coming up this weekend! excited and nervous.

My punch list grew by one item today when the driver's side window outside pane shattered for no apparent reason. The good news is that I was taking it to the dealer today. The shattered glass was there, in place, until I drove. The road was pretty rough and the glass just fell away gradually.
This window wouldn't close and latch properly so it may have been forced into place with some continuous stress to the glass.

Update - the window was determined to be defective by an RV glass specialist. It looks like it will be covered under the warranty. Hopefully we'll have a motorhome we can use in a few weeks.

We bought our first class A motorhome, a 2015 SBT, in August last year and have put approx. 5k miles on it. I took it to be serviced in March. I had 18 items that needed repaired. Mostly drawer, window, and door latches that did not work or were broken. We also had the control board on the generator go bad. It was throwing error code 13. This weekend while camping over Memorial Day, both AC's stopped blowing cold air while connected to 50amp service. I've also found that the leveling jacks are quirky at best and require more management than should be needed to get the coach adequately leveled and to get all of the jacks to fully retract. We also have the issue with light coming through under the rear bedroom slide.
I also have a list of chassis issues that I need to get addressed by Ford, if I can locate a service center that can work on it.
I too am very frustrated that something new seems to break every time we take the coach out. I read in another thread that we new coach owners should be glad that we are finding these sorts of issues while still under warranty and that all coaches have these sorts of issues. That may be true, but I don't understand how we've gotten to the point where we've allowed these serious quality control issues to become routine and acceptable. We spend a ton of money and get a ton of frustration in return.

I feel for you
Ive owned the coach since December. It went right into winter storage when I picked it up. I took it out of storage and it went back to the dealer at the end of April with a punch list of about 30 things. Its now almost June. I've got 200 miles on it and that was the trips to and from the dealer. At this rate, my warranty will expire before I get to travel with it.
Surely someone at HR cares about these issues?

We have had ours in the shop since end of April. Still have not gotten it back yet.
Water leaks, dash air conditioner had to be relaced. Seems the light that comes in under the bed is a problem with this rv.
Had to have new fuel pump put in generator. Refreagator was not working right. That is all we found from going out on two trips.
Hopefully there will not be anymore issues.
Keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck.
