2001 Holiday Rambler DP 34' with 80K miles

Hello folks:

I have decided to go diesel after more research. I have a 2001 HR DP 34' (Class A) with 80K miles in my buying reach, and would like to know if anyone owns this model and if they have been happy with it. Generally have been finding HR owners are satisfied.

Going to Hershey RV show 2014 first and practicing test-driving big rigs to make sure I can handle driving a 34' Class A (or bigger). No plans to pull anything to start.

I will have it professionally checked out as well (at my expense) before sealing the deal.

Any advice or feedback welcome. Thanks. Sincerely, Gabriela

We bought ours year and half ago. Sounds like they are pretty similar. 2001 Holiday Ambassador. When we got it home, we had the front end alignment checked. Had to replace shocks and replaced two bushings. Also had a steering stabilizer put on it. Ours had had new batteries and one year old tires on it. Have had a few minor problems nothing nothing major. This is our first motor home. Steep learning curve.
