I recently bought a 1984 Holiday rambler ambassador 33 and would like to mount a 2" receiver to the rear. The way that the spare tire sits this seems almost impossible. I know there are many out there with receiver s. Could someone please send an underside picture of theirs ?

Yes it is. the spare tire hangs down a bit in the center, and the frame rails end pretty far forward of the rear bumper. the only thing I can think to do is to mount a universal receiver low enough to clear the spare and probably 2 ft forward of the bumper and use an extension but that will kill my capacity. there has to be a better way. I have seen many of these motorhomes advertised for sale with a hitch.
My old Winnie has a hitch on the bumper and the extra tire gets in the way of putting even a small trailer on it (which I use for my kayaks) so I've decided this season I will get the mount plate for the tire extended so the spare tire is higher.
With the Holiday Rambler the spare tire is in a molded fiberglass cover that is a part of the tailcone and really can't be moved. The only thing you could do is get rid of the spare which I am definitely not do. For the short term the main thing I want to do is put a receiver bike rack on it.
This is the factory installed hitch on my 1984 HR Imperial. The pictures aren't real good but it shows how the hitch sits in relation to the spare tire.

Those little "runners" on the bottom of the hitch sure come in handy at times!
Since the receiver hitch is low I bought one of those adjustable height ball hitches that plugs in the receiver. I also installed rear air bags. This lets me adjust the trailer tongue so it's level.
