Depends on manufacturer, hopefully some with a holiday rambler will help you out.

Pretty much everyone advocates leveling your motor home BEFORE extending slide-outs. The reason is that if the coach is not level, you have gravity working against you in one way or another.
The slideout room is heavy. If the coach is level, then the motor only works to move the room, and the tracks have a easier time of guiding the room out.
If the front of the coach was low (for example), while extending, gravity would be trying to make the room slide forward also...putting undue stress.
Regards,
Dan

Most are level first, then extend slides. Upon breaking camp, retract slides, then raise levelers. That said, check your coach's specific instructions for the definitive word.

Doesn't matter what "everyone advocates"! Do what YOUR RV manufacturer says to do! Nothing else matters, they're the one that built it and know for sure!!!

MONACO SAYS - Slides FIRST out and LAST in...
Good advice above. If answerer (is that a word?) doesn't own or owned your brand, DISREGARD all after "I think"...

With hyd jacks, yep, put the slides out first, while your air bags are in 'travel' mode, then level.
I have air leveling, and put them out either at travel height, or leveled on the air system.

Slides out. Dump air. Level coach. Reverse order when breaking camp.

You can find the owners manual for your coach at this site. My '04 scepter manual says coach must have airbags inflated to move slides. Seems to be a clearance issue.

Agreed - you should find a manual for your rig and do as it says - or call them if you don't have a manual.
But on my '04 Diplomat, slides are only to move when air bags are fully inflated. So on arrival the sequence is:
slides out -> dump air -> level -> enjoy
On leaving:
start engine to inflate bags -> raise levelers -> engine off -> slides in

Well maybe once in a while, when it's brand specific, maybe in this situation when it comes to slides. But most of the MH's have components from the same sources and a lot of people offer good advice, even if they have a different manufacturer. Those posting were only trying to help.

On my '03 Camelot the slides are only to move when air bags are fully inflated. So our the sequence is:
slides out -> level -> dump air -> enjoy
On leaving:
start engine to inflate bags -> raise levelers -> engine off -> slides in[/QUOTE]
This is what the manual for my Camelot says.
