Heartland Products

Is Heartland Products really that bad? I looked at a Road Warrior 413 today and it appeared to be really nice.

I used a friends 2015 Cyclone 4100 King for 5 months. He had had it for a year at the time. We had no real problems with it. The kitchen sink sagged, and we were able to fix that pretty easily.

It was a triple axle, with the equiflex suspension. It towed pretty well, but I would upgrade to disk brakes if it were mine.

With that being said - the cabinets were particle board. Not impressed. The pump/dispenser for the gas tank froze up, probably from not being used.

All brands will have issues

I don't think there is a brand on the market that is perfect, and you will have issues with any brand you buy.
Just make sure you buy from a reputable dealer, or private if you know them, go over the unit with a fine tooth comb before signing the papers to make sure everything is fixed prior to taking possession of the unit. If you buy it first then take it out to find all the things wrong with it, then you'll be dealing with warranty issues but if you catch them all before you take ownership of said unit, the dealer is much more willing to fix/repair/replace because they are still responsible and it is considered a new/unsold unit as far as the factory is concerned.
Don't be rushed or afraid to take as long as you want to make sure everything is up to par before you buy. They are mass producing all of these toy haulers now so there are definitely some shortcomings that will be found.
Another thing to remember, is that many of the owners don't post to websites because they are happy, and are used to the rv life of fixing things that break due to a house being pulled all over the country. That is why I believe that there are more unsatisfied people vs satisfied.
The Cyclone is our favorite unit as well when compared to all the other toy haulers.

After several years of research.....

1. They are all built like crap, but Grand Design is the best of the bad builds.

2. Dealership service is horrible

3. You essentially buy a new RV then spend a year of warranty getting the things that should have been done right, done right.

Have owned mine for a couple months. They wired the auto level backwards, no power to the rear awning, few water leaks here and there, one window will have to be replaced, one of the light strips has to be replaced, some cosmetic stuff.

Our dealership for service was absolutely worthless. Heartland has been real helpful, though they were unable to get us in for a few months, but did refer us to a local service shop that could do warranty work, and that has been good.

Would rather have been surprised by a solid unit and great service......but I expected these issues and we're good.
