New Heartland T285

I am about to pull the trigger on a Heartland T285. I am upgrading from a Tracer Air that weighs in about 6000 lbs but the T285 comes in at 12,500 lbs. Tow vehicle is a 2015 F250 6.2L gas. I ran the numbers and fully loaded I will be close but I won't run fully loaded. My question is does anyone one else have the same set up or comparable? If so, how did it pull and any suggestions? Most of the people that we were camping with said it would fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, you're not getting much response. I suspect it's because you are wanting to tow too much trailer with not quite enough truck.

The 2015 F-250 CrewCab 4x4 with gas engine and 3.73 axle ratio has a tow rating of 12,000 pounds.

The Heartland toy hauler T285 has GVWR of 12,800 pounds. If properly loaded to the gills to gross 12,000 pounds, then with a good WD hitch, your hitch weight would be 1,660 pounds. 1,660 pounds hitch weight is a big chuck of weight to come out of the payload capacity of the F-250.

If your truck has the optional 4.30 axle, that ads 500 pounds to the tow rating. But you'll still be straining the drivetrain when towing in hills or trying to climb a mountain pass.

If I had that truck and wanted to tow a toy hauler TT, I'd look for one with GVWR of not more than 10,000 pounds.
