Travel to Canada.

Just put a deposit down on a 2019 Jayco Greyhawk 29mvp. Looking at a late Feb. early March delivery. We have traveled out west quite a bit by truck and staying in hotels, so we are definitely looking forward to this new adventure. That being said, I know it is highly illegal to bring a handgun into Canada, my question, are there any accommodations to leave a firearm on the USA side of the border , and retrieve it upon return ? Appreciate any thoughts or experiences with this situation.

Lots of threads on this if you search, but for me, easiest is pawn shop near border.

Any local owned gun store should be able to hold your firearm safely for you for a small $$. They would even be able to ship your firearm to another location if you decide to cross the border at another location.

Did that for 20 years when visiting my family in British Columbia. Used to leave it for "cleaning" and pick it up a week later. A couple of years ago my gun shop in Wa. state said I could not leave the gun anymore if I was not a Wa. state resident.
Don't know about other border states though. Now I pawn the gun for $10 and get it out of pawn for the $10 and about $5 in pawn fees.

I just took the panel off, 4 screws in the closet were my water pump is and put my 45 in a plastic bag then put the panel back on. went across the border and said no fire arms, I'm sure I'm not the only one to do this. we stayed several times along the way in gravel pits and other pull off areas. we were all alone many miles from anything and no cell service. I wouldn't sleep if I didn't have any protection.

If the BP pull you in for a inspection (they are trained to detect lie's), they know what to look for and you could be in for a interesting experience. Being incarcerated in a foreign country with no rights should not be taken lightly. Please don't ask the US Embassy to waste my tax $$ trying to save your butt. If you are concerned about protection, then don't go there, and if you can't sleep, then just keep driving!
P.S. - BP will disassemble your RV looking for that last random shell, and they won't put it back together when they are done, that's your job to figure out from a cell. Also, you will be banned for life from Canada.

I have a close friend who did something similar and he ended up in a
Canadian jail. His wife had to go back across the border to get bail money. It ended up costing him $2,500 in fines, he lost his gun, and he is banned from Canada for life. He may even end up on a cannot fly list. This is a REALLY bad idea. The border patrol are highly trained in how to detect when someone is lying. You are just incredibly lucky you have not been caught. If you are so afraid of the boogy man, maybe you should stay home.

Confiscation of the vehicle is not uncommon. We see them come up at auction occasionally.
