Carefree awning on a 2017 Holiday Rambler Vacationer 35K

I have just purchased a new Vacationer and I am having problems figuring out how the wind sensor works on the carefree awning. I have just two buttons that I push to either open or close the awning. It is supposed to have a wind sensor on it but I don't see how it works, I see nothing that spins in the wind. Another problem is at the backside it does not completely close. Also several mounting screws missing and broken off. Can anyone shed some light on this .

Care Free Awning

I have a 2016 HR Scepter with care free awning and have on/off switch and also In/Out switch. I was told after extending awning to turn on/off switch to off to turn wind sensor off this does not seem to help with the awning auto retracting. My awning auto retracts even if you slam door shut. No one has been able tell me how to adjust the wind sensor! Mine is way to sensitive. Hope someone out there can help us out

On the '16 Bounder 35K (Sceptre has a different design as I don't believe it has the Illumaplex system) it is not a wind sensor per se. It is a motion sensor. There is a module inside the awning the can detection how much the awning is bouncing. When it bounces too much it will automagically retract.
There have been some complaints about this awning. The design without the downward legs require it though. If you want to risk it, Carefree will provide a less sensitive sensor. It is free for the asking as I understand it. You need to contact Carefree directly with your product and SN number (I believe).
Missing screws are very common. There are numerous thread in this forum on the topic. They should be installed, 2 per mount if I recall correctly.
Hope that helps
