Description:

Family owned and operated. Wonderful campground in the foothills close to Lexington. 45 minutes from Charlotte. Extremely clean and well cared for. If you are looking for a quite, peaceful place, this is it. Tent sites, back-ins and pull-throughs. Can handle big rigs with ease. 30/50 amp at each RV site. Nice pool. No store on site except bagged ice.

We stayed at Cross Winds for 2 weeks. We planned on driving home for the weekend in between but found ourselves so relaxed we decided to stay. Not to mention the fact that the owners and staff made us feel so welcomed. Can't wait to go back!

Pros:

Lot size and cleanliness

Cons:

Truck noise and bad tasting water

We really enjoyed the campground. Everyone was friendly, the campsite clean with lots of room and trees. The facilities were super clean. We will definitely return.
The only drawbacks were the proximity to the interstate, making it noisy at night, and the foul taste of the water which was not removed by a brand new filter. Bringing your own water solves this problem, and you kinda of get used to the trucks.
We got a pull thru, but the back-in lots looked like they had plenty of room. Nice playground for kids. Nice pool too. Not much to complain about. If you can make a side trip, Lexington BBQ was worth the wait. For something more formal, the Childress Vinyards is an excellent meal and experience.
