Description: Wa-Wen Resort offers full hookup, free wifi as well as cabins. They also rent fishing boats and pontoons. They have a heated swimming pool. The owner also is a pilot and has a float plane at the resort if you are up for a guided trip around the island. Owners are very accommodating. If you are into fishing they are the perfect spot. There is plenty do do on the island with Michigan's largest closed loop ORV trail with sections for quads, side by sides and is a huge destination for Jeepers.

Pros: Excellent host, boats available to rent. boat launch, float plane, swimming pool.
Cons: none

A group of us come to the island at least once a year to take our Jeeps on the trails. Many of us camp and many rent one of the awesome cabins they have. They provide us with a pressure washer to wash off the mud from the days trail rides. It is nice that they have pontoons to rent so we can enjoy the water and check out many of the other islands in the area. The fishing is great too. Nothing is better than having Paul take you on a tour around the islands in his float plane. The host are very accommodating. Allowing us to use their shop to repair our broken Jeeps if need be or even flying us to the closest auto parts store in Sault Ste Marie. The scenery in the area is breathtaking. You may see black bear, deer, eagles, osprey, snowy owls, fox and much more. Every time we visit we see something we have never seen on the island before.
