We are coming to some big decisions, and we can't move forward

Posted 03-26-2014 at 03:33 PM by ie2special

on the big RV purchase until at least summer 2015 again. In the meantime I don't want to not camp/travel.

My truck will only pull about 4500K so I am looking at hybrids

I've found some cute ones!

I was working on a chore spreadsheet for my kid...

Posted 02-27-2014 at 07:14 AM by ie2special

Then I decided to do some numbers. We found 3 Class A models that would work for Part Time Trips and A Few months while between duty stations.

The are in the low low 100's, one is 75K.

I just can't decide. The 2013 Bounder Classic is a diesel with air ride, front mounted and the frieghtliner Chassis.

Then there is the Allegro, much better finishes but Gas, and the most expensive. But...could consider Full time in it.

Finally the Fleetwood...

Planning a trip to Texas

Posted 02-26-2014 at 07:21 AM by ie2special

I want some BBQ and I want to check out some more rvs. Planning the trip with the car, pets, hotel, packing, etc I had a realization. I want a MH now.

Problem is we can't full time yet and we don't want to pay rent and a mh payment.

The trip is typical of how we would travel in an rv that we don't live in.

Th-Sunday, 8 hours away, 3 kids a dog and a cat.

What do I do?

Get a part time rv or wait till next summer to full...

Now the Truck and 5th Make sense...less risk $$

Posted 02-25-2014 at 01:49 PM by ie2special

If we try it and we don't like it then we are still able to trade the truck for something else and sell off the 5th wheel.

I am so scared to make the wrong decision but I think I am going back this direction....

This blog is keeping my husband sane

Posted 02-25-2014 at 12:01 PM by ie2special

I can come here and rant all my thoughts and questions out, sometimes you all even read them...and...sometimes...you answer me!!

All kidding aside. I know that we are going to need to have something that changes with us. I do not like the fit and finish of most units and since I am going to be in it full-time (stay at home mom) I just don't think I can adjust. We also know that we want to have a motorsport hobby, like Go-Carts.

I also need a place for my teen-age...

This makes me want to cry myself to sleep...I can't decide

Posted 02-24-2014 at 02:23 PM by ie2special

I want this floorplan...https://www.mhsrv.com/2014-heartland-...-i1023600...in a Class A.

I don't need the toy hauler but a second bedroom would be awesome!

I really wanted a class A but this is such a better idea!!

Are the insulated enough for VA winters?

On another note I found a fForetravel floor plan I love but the thing needs a modern makeover and its already...

The tale of the Bedroom for a teen..

Posted 02-21-2014 at 09:39 AM by ie2special

We really love him having his own space. We want to have a car with us when we travel. Another member suggested a Class B as a Toad and a bedroom so I am now researching this. The only thing we have settled on thus far is that I love Entegra. There are so many variables!

We went and saw,

Posted 02-18-2014 at 07:33 AM by ie2special

Goodness we love Entegra! We looked at tiffin, all the way to the allegro bus and they didn't touch it.

We also love the American coach, especially the full wall slide.

At the same dealership we looked at a Winnebago Tour, but the woods and finishes were not up to the others IMO.

After leaving we went to a nearby dealership to see Newmar. Again, not seeing the reason for the jump in price over Entegra but at least they weren't horrifically built like...

Monday, we look again.

Posted 02-15-2014 at 05:55 PM by ie2special

Frankly I would love to buy one now and get it over with but husband doesn't want the dirty dog in the fancy coach. She moves to Florida with our oldest son in May of next year, that is why we are waiting.

Dealership here has an AMAZING deal on 2 of the coaches we want but I don't know if we can afford one of them and not live in it.

Frankly I want one NOW but we shall see.

We are going to look again on Monday!

Getting Frustrated and going around in circles

Posted 02-11-2014 at 01:53 PM by ie2special

Now I am reading that the diesel pushers are maintenance prone and I am worried because that will be my house. I won't have back-up when its broken and can't just up and go to the factory all the time.

I hate the look of the dually pick-up, I know, that makes me a snob. But that is a lot of money to spend on something I don't like.

I also am in love with the luxury RV parks but they only let in Class A rigs so that means if I get a 5th wheel I am out of luck for...

So it Continues

Posted 01-31-2014 at 07:51 AM by ie2special

Now my husband is thinking to go Cheap, under 100K. Problem is nothing in that range has the finishes that we like. The walls don't feel right, they feel like paper. I am worried about what other people will think.

Being a full-time RV'r is a lifestyle change. We know that. Part of what made it more palatable is the fact that we were looking at rigs that felt like our homes have felt.

The ones he is looking at are not ok to me for 10 years to be in. We currently...

36, Married to a Marine Officer, looking to FT with 2 kids!

Posted 01-28-2014 at 05:10 PM by ie2special

Here it is, the intro...we don't want to wait until we are old to see the country. We have a teenager leaving the house for college next year so we think that going full time is the way to go.

We have a 2 year old daughter and a 13 year old son in addition to the one heading to college.

My husband is a Marine Corps Officer stationed in New Orleans. We have been all over this country. I am from Florida and he is from Pennsylvania.

We love to see...
