Chiricahua National Monument Southwestern History And A Volcanic Past

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

This is not your typical five miles off the highway visit. This is more of a I really want to see this place visit. If you are traveling I-10 and see the signs for the park and decide to go, know that you are going to be driving 40 minutes and 37 miles before you get to the park.

Be advised, if you are low on fuel get some in Willcox before proceeding. As you...

The 2017 "Coloma Chicken Chew" and the " Hancock Dairy Breakfast"

Posted 06-26-2017 at 09:31 AM by Charlie and Martha

Martha and I went to the Chicken Chew in Coloma, Wi. on Saturday evening. It was kind of a bust because it was in the mid 50's and windy. We missed the car show, watched a bit of community volley ball (elimination tournament), had a great Lion's Club rib dinner and decided (DW decided) that it was too cold to wait for the fireworks show.

It was a typical small town festival with the bully drunks in wife beaters to the overdressed socialite trophy wife wearing all leather and sporting...

The "Smoke Test" Campout

Posted 03-30-2017 at 09:49 PM by Charlie and Martha

Martha and I went camping Monday of this week to test the modifications, repairs, replacement and additions we've made since last December.

Our campsite this week was Withrow Springs State Park, Arkansas. We really enjoyed this place. There are only 30 campsites in this park so, should you want to go, book early after school is out and on holidays.

The Trip Wasn't All Roses

In fact the coach is still at the park because the living room slide out once...

How To Carry A Motorcycle and Tow Our Car 101 - Trial and Error

Posted 02-23-2017 at 12:12 PM by Charlie and Martha

We are trying to find an economical solution to carrying both my motorcycle and our car (Read: I can't afford a hydraulic or cable lift plus the welding to install it). To that end we tried a very well built motorcycle carrier and it just won't work. The conclusion is that there just isn't enough room to get the bike onto the carrier because of the width of the bikes handlebars.

Small Wet Bay Upgrade

Posted 02-19-2017 at 08:42 AM by Charlie and Martha

I've wanted to install a decent water pressure regulator on my coach since we bought it last November. We have low pressure, high pressure and pressures in between at the places we've been since owning the coach.

I purchased an adjustable pressure regulator and did my install today using a stand off to stabilize the apparatus on the face of the wet bay panel. I also added quick disconnect hose connections to make things easier when setting up or tearing down to leave. I know this...

Jacks Down Alarm and Light - Mitigating The Loudest Alarm Module In My Coach

Posted 02-04-2017 at 01:33 PM by Charlie and Martha

As the title states our coach has a very loud jacks down audible alarm. In a diesel pusher this alarm serves as your "put the jacks up before you move the coach, you "dumb-arse" alarm. It has both a audible (under the dash) and lighted alarm (on the dash). In our coach the alarm is ear piercing. No, really it is, and many others have this complaint as well. The intent of the alarm of course is to make you put the jacks up prior to moving the coach. The problem with the intent of...

Rub-A-Dub-A-Dub an RV In A Tub

Posted 01-29-2017 at 11:17 AM by Charlie and Martha

Good grief, first water problems in the RV (still not solved). Then water problems at our Louisiana campground.

We stayed in Fairview Riverside State Park, Madisonville, Louisiana for the last two days. It is one of our favorite places to camp. Live Oaks and River Oaks dripping with Spanish moss, the beautiful Tchefuncte (Cha Funk Ta) River on the West side of the park and running water, everywhere.

The first day and evening were great. We got set up, went for a walk,...
