Ignition Switch Relay

Posted 06-21-2010 at 06:44 PM by depchief

I completed the installation of the switch relay over the week end. Once I understood the exact wiring the install was relatively easy. Hardest is getting power wire from the outside fuse block into the coach and under the dash.
All materials where readily available at local auto parts stores. Must make sure the 40 amp relay is correct. There are many relays available but are lesser amperage.
Hopefully the incident of being stranded on the highway is a forgotten memory

My luck changed

Posted 06-02-2010 at 01:20 PM by depchief

I guess I should have noticed something was starting to go bad a few months ago. The clue was the ignition key getting hard to turn on. I tried the spare set and it would not work either. When I compared the keys, they where not exactly the same. Since the first set worked (key 1) I decided to get another key made (key 3) and make sure it worked correctly. This key worked fine and I felt better having 2 good keys. I then compared the originals that I had, again, (key 2) the first cut was not exact....
