Mission Statement: Supporting thoughtful exchange of knowledge, values and experience among RV enthusiasts.
Stay tuned for what may be some comical entries!

I've always been told I should be a writer. Not that I think I'm good at it, all my family, friends, acquaintances and coworkers tell me I just have a way of telling a story.
Yes, I have been known to embellish things a bit, but without an apt description of events, it just wouldn't paint the picture in quite the light that it needs.

Many of our adventures.....wait, let me change that....Many of our misadventures start out with all the right intent, but somehow end up a WHOLE lot different than intended.
Being as my wife have a sense of humour, it helps get through most of the calamities that befall one who enjoys the RV Lifestyle.

Island Holiday 2015

Posted 10-31-2015 at 08:47 AM by Dogpatch (Life's Like That!)

Island Adventure 2015

Aside from a few small glitches like blowing the seals or hose on one of the front hydraulic jacks the first day rendering my leveling system useless for the whole trip, things have been great.
The only catastrophic event was we blew out the hinges on the toilet seat and for a few days using the Lou was a nightmare. I could here screams and some words I won't repeat from the room on many an occasion. I finally mustered all my skills together and ventured...

I Think Trouble Follows Me!

Posted 03-29-2015 at 08:29 PM by Dogpatch (Life's Like That!)

This happened with a previous coach but while I'm "fessin up" to our many OOOPS! that happen, I may as well bare myself in the company of my comrades once again.

This is an excerpt from one of my many stories:

I think Trouble follows me!

Took the RV out to wash it today because I'm going to put it up for sale and the first thing I notice is what I thought to be leaves flying around was actually one of my thicker pin stripes. Yup! Pealed her...

'Twas The Night Before Christmas

Posted 03-29-2015 at 10:11 AM by Dogpatch (Life's Like That!)
Updated 03-29-2015 at 10:14 AM by Dogpatch

This was a little something I wrote to my wife after a little "Xmas Tree Mishap"

'Twas the night before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas,
All was quiet in the house.
The cats were now sleeping,
Cause we don't have a mouse.

The ornaments were hung
On the Pine tree with care,
As if by some miracle
"Martha Stuart" was there.

The two of us were sleeping
Me in the...

Our (Mis)Adventure To Buy A Different RV in Albuquerque

Posted 03-29-2015 at 09:56 AM by Dogpatch (Life's Like That!)

Albuquerque

Arriving in Albuquerque, of course as most things typically go, my suitcase is missing. We get to the Hotel and settle in. I call the Airline and express my disdain.

Well, my suitcase arrived to the hotel sometime in the middle of the night.

Apparently, according to Homeland Security, the risk of blowing up a plane with a surge protector, a GPS and a pair of underwear is minimal.

Mort (our rubber chicken and trusted traveling...

9 Items or "Les"

Posted 03-29-2015 at 09:16 AM by Dogpatch (Life's Like That!)

9 Items or Less

One day, I was getting groceries to restock the RV and all the check outs were lined up 7 people deep.
So, I ventured to a different entry to the store only to find that they were all "Express" lines.

I looked up and saw "9 items or Less".

I looked down, rather forlornly, as I noted the heap of items in the basket.

I tried inconspicuously to pull the mass of condiments out of my carry all. ...

Our (Mis)Adventure To The Oregon Coast

Posted 03-29-2015 at 09:02 AM by Dogpatch (Life's Like That!)
Updated 03-29-2015 at 09:03 AM by Dogpatch

This is only a portion of our trip to the Oregon Coast, but certainly the most notable moments of our "new to us" RV.

Day 1,

Well we made it to Hope, BC. Stayed at the Coquihalla Campground. I plugged in and a few minutes later, the power went out in the campground. Everything was pitch black. Talking with the neighbours, they said "Ya, not sure what's going on". I said, "me either". A couple of minutes later, the power went off again....

Testing

Posted 01-04-2015 at 09:35 AM by Dogpatch (Life's Like That!)
Updated 03-29-2015 at 11:02 AM by Dogpatch

This is a test to see if I actually know what I'm doing or delusional as I suspect.

The thing I hate about any of these new systems is you don't really know the outcome till you push that "It's too late, you probably shouldn't have done that" button.
