Observations from the road . . . . .

Posted 07-23-2011 at 05:52 AM by Zagami

Hot, hot, hot! Guess I didn’t tell you anything you didn’t already know about the weather this summer. I’m on the road for two weeks doing a product review and livability report on the new 2012 A.C.E. motorhome from Thor Motor Coach. This 30’ beauty is performing very well given the conditions all RVers are facing with 100 degree heat, high humidity and sudden bursts of lightning and heavy downpours. The report will appear in Family Motor Coaching Magazine in a few months so be sure to watch for...

How cool is this?

Angus King, the former Governor of Maine from 1995 to 2003 is a high-profile RVer with a new book that will hit the stores in a few weeks. Titled Governor’s Travels: How I Left Politics, Learned to Back Up a Bus, and Found America, the 128-page paperback is filled with 150 photographs. The book chronicles the King family trek across America in the days immediately following his second term as Governor of one of the best vacation destinations in the country.

Would you say “China” and “RV” in the same sentence?

Hardly a day goes by without some reference to China and the damage they are currently inflicting on the United States with less expensive, or flat out counterfeit, products knocked off from American-made products that once drove the powerful domestic manufacturing communities that once drove this great nation to prosperity.

Economists and financial analysts are warning of future distress...

Park Model Trailers - the best kept secret in the RV industry today!

Posted 06-05-2011 at 09:29 AM by Zagami

I’m always amazed that when you read about the RV industry you seldom see references to Recreation Park Trailers, or park models as many dealers and owners refer to them. Park models are favorites for many people that enjoy destination camping where they will have a permanent trailer on a campsite that provides them all the enjoyment of the RV lifestyle enjoyed by other folks that enjoy it with a motorhome, travel trailer or fifth-wheel.

Park models, by law, are less than 400 square...

An RVer speaks to RVers about waste management ...

Posted 05-27-2011 at 08:51 PM by Zagami

RVers are very smart people! They also enjoy great relationships with each other and are very willing to share experiences -- good and bad -- with their old friends and newcomers to the RV lifestyle.

I think we would all agree that the most distasteful aspect of RVing in the emptying of the holding tanks and the periodic maintenance to keep them in good working order and...

Rain, rain go away . . . please!

Posted 05-23-2011 at 07:02 PM by Zagami

The rain, tornadoes, and floods throughout the eastern half of the country the past few weeks, and especially this week, have really put a damper (no pun intended) on the early season camping plans for many RVers. It is just miserable out there. Here in the Boston area we are into our sixth straight day (Wednesday) of torrential rain and localized flooding and we may not see the sun again until Saturday. Maybe, just maybe, we can salvage the camping weekend and have some fun.

One of

Coffee, a camper's best friend in the morning .....

Posted 05-05-2011 at 09:14 PM by Zagami

If you are like many campers, the first thing you want to see in the morning is a fresh, hot, and delicious cup of coffee. I certainly am in that group of happy campers, and it's usually more than one as the sun comes up over the horizon.

After contemplating the purchase for a few years, we finally took the plunge and bought ourselves a Keurig single-cup coffee system. This is not a commercial for Keurig, it is just an enthusiastic endorsement of this system as one of the most convenient
