WWB – Day 12-Saturday May 24 – Memphis, Tenn.
Today we went into Memphis to check out Beale Street. We got to the Peabody just in time to see the ducks. At 11:00 sharp, the elevator to the lobby opens and out waddle the ducks and they march themselves right over to the fountain in the middle of the lobby. They proceed to swim in the lobby until they are taken back upstairs to their room. We have seen this event on TV and had heard about them but never planned to see them in person. ...

We are in Memphis. Today we discovered a tree house here on the RV property. Granted, it's not one like Pete Nelson builds on "The Treehouse Master", but I do love treehouses. The best decision we are making is to stay put and not continue on our trip. Finding a great place to stay for the weekend is the best thing a RVer will do on a busy weekend, especially Memorial weekend. We are happy here with the Mississippi right out our front door.
The only thing missing is the raft,...

WWB = Day 8----2014
After taking yesterday off chillin & doing laundry, we decided to check out Graceland and downtown Memphis. Bill had his daily battle with Gladys. I swear she takes him on a wild goose chase just so he can bitch at her for taking us the longest route.
Graceland was really quite special, both of us being Elvis fans for life. It actually wasn’t as gaudy as we thought it would be. With our senior discount and his Veteran discount we paid like $25.00 each to...

WWB = Days 5 & 6 (Saturday & Sunday) May 17th & 18th 2014
Yesterday we traveled from Colombus, Georgia to Jasper, Alabama. Nothing eventful happened. We stopped at an RV park called”Sleepy Holler”. The grounds weren’t much to write home about so I guess that’s why I didn’t even blog last night.
This morning we left, heading up the state to just past the Tennessee border. Going through Tupelo, Ms. We decided to go see where Elvis Presley was born. There we saw a very...

WWB –Day 4
Today was our trip to Ft. Benning, GA. About 19 mile drive from our camp. First stop was to Ranger Joe’s (a military supplier of all things military) for a little shopping.
On to the post to look at the famous 3 jump towers used for parachute training. Quite impressive, even after 60 years of not seeing them. You see, Bill was living here as a child of an Army dad. So, next stop was to see the home he lived in and the surrounding neighborhood. After lunch it was time...

WWB- PART 2===DAY 3 (WWB = whatever will be)
Today is Thurs. May 15th….We survived the rain storm that pretty much started when we got here in Columbus, Ga., right on thru the night.
This is Bill’s escapade: On the way to Columbus, we found the windshield wipers didn’t work again. Bill fixed it last year but never had to use them the whole trip so when he needed them this time, no workee….or so he thought! After pulling the dash apart to pull the switch out and check it again he...

Now this is day 2 of our 2014 trip. We plan on traveling up the Mississippi Valley. Yesterday we were in Perry, Fl, just south of Tallahassee, Fl with every intention on staying put until the weather broke. We knew bad rain storms were on the way. So what does Bill do when he woke up but starts thinking about actually how far we could get before the storms hit. And bingo, we are packed up and on the road heading to Fort Benning, Georgia. He is looking forward to showing me around the base...

Whatever will be – 2014 edition…
Today, - Tuesday May 13th….is the first day of our 2014 summer expedition. We find ourselves leaving our Tampabay area home and heading up the Mississippi Valley and into Canada. We left home uneventfully this morning around 10:30 heading north on the expressway, then onto US 19 headed towards the northern Florida border with Georgia.
This afternoon we decided to stop for the night in “Perry, Fl”. Perry is just south of Tallahassee, the state’s capital....

Been there, done that....Thursday, Aug 29, The last driving day of our trip...
We are just outside Tallahassee, Florida for the night. We did 3 states today and boy are Bill's wings tired...He just flew thru all of them.
We are at the "Sunset Kings Lake Resort". Pretty park on a nice lake. Tomorrow we wind up the trip by cruising into our own yard. 13 States, nearly 5 months. Yes we are ready to get home. He's like the horse running back to the barn. Our barn can't come into...

Whatever will be, will be..Today is Wed Aug. 28, Day 139 of our trip....
Today we left Louisiana and headed into Mississippi. We are staying just north of Hattisburg. Again we were able to find a campground with nice trees. The area here is pretty nice with smallish pine trees. We really were just looking for a comfy place to pull over and rest. i have to admit that it is a little strange staying at a campground that is right out back of a large 3 story hotel. It looks like it should be quiet...

Whatever will be, will be...Tuesday Aug 27, day 138 of our trip
Today we left the confines of Texas and made our way into Louisiana. We are staying at a beautiful state park called "Lincoln Parrish Park" in Ruston, La. The park is right on a beautiful lake with trees shading the campsites. It is really peaceful and tranquil. Tomorrow we will head for Vicksburg, Ms, then on to home in just a few more days. All is going well and the weather is tolerable although still quite warm (96)....

Whatever will be, will be...Monday Aug 26, day 138 of the trip
We just arrived in Arlington, Tx., just outside Dallas/Ft Worth. We are staying again at the Tree-Top RV park. Really nice place. Liked it very much on the way out west so we decided to give it a go one more time. Texas has gone thru without any new incidences. We expect to be about 5-6 more days one the road. Looking forward to getting home soon.
Keep on keepin on....

Whatever will be, will be..Sunday Aug 25, Day 136 of the trip...
Today we both got up early, (like 6:00). Trying to adjust to the time changes we are going thru. Drive today was a short 170 miles for a change. Bill is actually getting his nap in for the first time in over 2 weeks. He really needs it. His back is really giving him hell.
No new pictures. Texas is still flat and will be for a few more days...Pretty hot here tho...101.
We are looking forward to the Tree Top...

Whatever will be, will be… Saturday, Aug 24 Day 135 of our trip
We are officially on our way home now. We stayed in Albuquerque last night with friends. Had a wonderful visit. Dick and Marilee are so gracious. We had dinner and stayed up way too late chatting about life in general. Dick and Bill are so much alike in so many ways.
Today we entered Texas and stopped in Amarillo. We did the Texas Steakhouse dinner again taking the limo ride and pigging out on some of the best steak...

Whatever will be, will be… Thursday, Aug 22 Day 133 of our trip
We are finally out of "Hell's Kitchen", otherwise known as Needles, Calif. We are currently back in William's Arizona. We stayed here at the Canyon Gateway RV Park on our trip thru here the beginning of May. We are enjoying some well needed rain at the moment. We actually got so hot that we thought we would melt for the last 5 days. The temps here are supposed to be a high of 75 and a low in the mid 50's. Maybe...
