mini cooper on a tow dolly

Posted 01-03-2013 at 02:39 PM by Pds47

We pull a 2008 clubman s on a Demco tow dolly to get the mini to fit it was as simple as taking off the clip-on rubber dirt skirt under the front dam. This allows the mini to run up the ramps with an inch to spare. Along the front frame on both sides there are two bolts which hold the front bumper on I made a bracket to bolt here that the safety chains could clip. As for the steering wheel I made two loops and bolted them to the front seat mount and use two ratchet straps to hold the steering wheel.
Tows like a dream
Hope this helps someone else to get your Mini behind you.

I am preparing to tow my mini on a dolly behind my 2004 Challenger. your brackets sound interesting, Ill probably have a look underneath and do the same thing. Just wondering, I'll have straps over my front wheels, what is the purpose of strapping the steering wheel?
