Newmar's Festive Display Greets Trade Show Attendees

Newmar Introduces the Ventana LE to the RV Industry

The Newmar entry warmly greets show attendeees during this Holiday Season.

As it was getting late in the day I wanted to get one more display under my belt so I swung by the Newmar exhibit. Decorated in in the Season's finest decor the portal into the exhibit was welcoming. At the kiosk I stopped by to say hello and met Shannon Stover. I asked Shannon what was new in the display this year and she jestured toward the 2012 Ventana LE and said this is our latest product that we just introduced. The Newmar Ventana LE competes with other motorhomes like the Tiffin RED and the Winnebago Journey Express. The focus of these rigs is to get new owners into rear diesel motorhomes at a price point that is affordable. The Ventana LE is priced approximately $30,000 less than the Ventana. For a lot of people this can make or break a deal and they can drive away with a Cummins / Allison powertrain built on a Freightliner Custom Chassis.

As seen in the Press Release” The Ventana LE shares the same industry leading construction features as its sister brands, highlighted by aluminum framed sidewall and roof construction on 16” centers. Featuring a Cummins ISB 340 horsepower engine on a Freightliner chassis, the Ventana LE is available in three floor plans; a 36’ quad slide, a 38’ triple slide, bath and a half floorplan, and a 38’ quad slide bunkhouse model. Key features include Corian kitchen countertop, Flexsteel furniture with Ultralux leather, laminate tile floors, full body paint with Masterpiece graphic clear coat finish, power step well cover, and popular options such as, residential refrigerators, halogen lights, and MCD day/night shades.”

As I was walking around the back of the display a Newmar Motorhome Toy hauler came into view, The 2011 Canyon Star Model 3920. The Canyon Star caught my interest due to its low entry ramp on the back of the rig. I just had to find out how was that possible. I entered the vehicle from the front door and saw a clean looking cockpit with Blue Oval prominently positioned in the center of the steering wheel. The Canyon Star is powered by a Ford V10, 3V, 363 HP with 457 Lbs/Ft of Torque. The 3920 comes standard on a F-Super Duty 26,000 chassis and is equipped with 22.5 inch aluminum wheels. The leather Flexsteel seat welcomes the would be driver to set a course for adventure.

Canyon Star's vinyl flooring compliments its function as a Toyhauler. Details of dinette.

Looking aft toward the back wall at the garage entry doorway from the bedroom.

A full length Ultralux leather couch and booth dinette complete the street side of the interior of the rig. The dark wood inside the rig suggests upscale amenities and luxury. For a vehicle that is required to do yeoman tasks out in the most rugged of locals, this vehicle gives the occupants a definite feel of being home on the range. The bunk room is outfitted with a queen size bed. A chest of drawers is the base for flanking shirt closets with a center mounted flat panel TV. Exiting the bedroom via the rear of the coach, one steps down into an 8’ by 12’ garage. Mounted on the aft wall is a nifty wet dry vacuum. On the opposite side a flat panel Sony TV is mounted up high on the right side. Whether you are heading for the desert of the snow covered outback the 3920 has R16 in the roof, R11 in the sidewalls, R11 in the floor and double pane glass. The vehicle features dual ducted 13.5K air conditioners and a propane furnace with ducted heat.

Canyon's Star's Garage is 8 feet by 12 feet and is hard decked for easy cleaning. Check out the flat panel TV on the right side wall!

The 2011 Newmar Kountry Aire Fifth Wheel speaks volumes when it comes to aerodynamic engineering on its front cap.
