Hampshire Rocks

After the utter desolation of Death Valley, the lush green forests and the mountains of Tahoe National Park were sheer ecstasy. I found Hampshire Rocks Campground shortly after crossing over into California.
I found a spot beside a deep pool and river, surrounded by trees and grass and flowers. It was sort of tight--couldn't open one of the slides all the way--but so much beauty could not be bypassed for fully opened slides. We spent the next 14 days there, including Fourth of July week-end.
Until that week-end, there had not been too many campers about. That changed over-night. I'll swear that the Middle East emptied out into Tahoe National Park. There was a couple from California and me; the rest were from the Middle East, Afghanistan, Pakistan, some where, and they were literally on top of each other. Never mind that the rules stated one camper or tent or RV and one car, truck, etc., per spot. They totally ignored that. The Califonia couple left; I had paid for 14 days, so I stayed.
I'll have to admit: these folks were very pleasant to me and mindful of noise, trash, pets, etc. Since I am alone with the Go, I couldn't help but be a bit antsy in this vast sea of brown bodies, but I did learn an important lesson. I learned what it feels like to be a minority. I also learned that people of another culture in large are every bit as pleasant and well-mannered as I wish more native Americans would be (note the small 'n'.)
Time to run the Go.

I just get distracted with other things. My intentions are good, but you know what road is paved with good intentions...
