The RV Life

I'm just sitting here thinking about the really cool rig sitting out in the front yard begging to be driven. It is calling me to destinations far away from here, to new adventures and experiences that I cannot have here! I envy those that have their rigs paid for and have the time to actually use them, unfortunately both of those commodities elude me! For now I have to be content to work as much overtime as I can to pay for our home on wheels and enjoy it a few weekend here and there and my four weeks of vacation each year until retirement in about eight or nine years. Some people wait until they retire before buying a rig, in fact that's what the first owners of our Adventurer did. They bought it brand new upon retiring, used it five years and he died. I guess they can be thankful they had those five years, but I didn't want to wait that long to start enjoying the lifestyle that has been calling me for the past five years or so!! We've had the rig a little over a month now and lived in it six days and nights and driven it almost a thousand miles. There just is something unique about being able to start up our home and moving it anywhere we want to!! I know I'm not alone in this mindset otherwise there would not be so many people on this site! If anyone reads this and cares to respond, I would love to hear some of the stories of how others have come into the RV life!
