Continuing my winter-holiday visit home to see the kids & grandbaby and to alleviate my homesickness a bit, I've been hanging out in the Cloud here in Eugene for a few days and I'm just happy as a clam in here. The kids and my hometown friends are 100% in agreement about how cool it is- I found a sweet RV spot on airbnb (i'm a veteran airbnb'er) and have been really enjoying the country feel of the place, as well as the short drive to everything in town. I'm going to stay in Eugene probably...

and this is just too cool. I love, LOVE, having everything all self-contained, and i'm just tickled that absolutely *everything* works the way it's supposed to.
The details: Eric (my best friend and music partner) traveled to Eugene, OR with me as we decided to caravan vehicles (I'd never driven an RV over the pass, and I thought that RV PLUS towing my car might be a little much for the first time). We pulled out in the late afternoon and reached Corning, CA around 7 or 8 pm- I'd...

How big is too big? In terms of solar systems, in my mind, it'll never be too big.
I started in 2013 with 5 Sunpower Grade B, 240w panels; a year later I added 4 Sunpower Grade A 240w panels. In summer time, it output a decent amount of electricity to charge my C-Max Energi, a plug-in hybrid as my toad, and the batteries. But in winter time, it's merely able to catch up with the demands from the house batteries for daily use, let alone with the toad.

I've been restoring my '92 Fleetwood Jamboree 27' Searcher Special (re-christened "the Cloud") for the past 2 months. It's been....a learning experience, to be sure, as well as more work than I had ever imagined! I knew it had been neglected for the previous 5 or so years, but as a complete RV newbie, I didn't know about aaaaallll the little things that can go wrong, break, fall apart, mold, etc on one, and I'd never heard the axiom "It's not IF they will leak, but WHEN"....
HI, just thought I would check in and say HI, I just signed up to the site and it sounds like a nice one.
I have been an RVer all my adult life, mainly because of my occupation as an equipment operator.
I guess you're wondering about the "No Smoking Please" comment.* You might have read about the fires that have been rampaging through the west this summer.* At one point we had fires burning in all directions and could see the flames from the fires at night.* Not as close as many others and we didn't suffer any damage, but the smoke has been overwhelming at times.* Our hearts go out to the many that have suffered losses of loved ones and their property!* Just before the Eclipse, I left...
After three wonderful but wet days in Phoenix and attending an absolutely beautiful wedding, I set about making a more permanent repair to my power cord that drug for 400 miles. *Our neighbors were a nice couple and I was happy to entertain them with my story about the power cord while in the midst of fixing it. *I also put together a towel with a rope to try drying out the roof of my slide out before retracting. *The idea was to pull the towel across the outside...
My Wife and I like to avoid the crowds during the summer months so we travel more during the Spring and Fall months. *This last February, Esther convinced me that it would be better if we sold our Stealth 2312 Toy Hauler and purchased something with a slide out and a separate bedroom. *We have been taking longer trips and not taking the Quads so it made sense to make the change. *Since we were going to a wedding in Phoenix, we decided to see if we could find our next trailer and get it outfitted...

Many of us have experience a "no start" condition. Often this is a fuel delivery problem after filter change, component change or just a situation where the fuel delivery is air lock the the lift pump just isn't doing it's job well enough.
So currently, this is where I am at with the no start issue. seems as though my fuel is draining back to the tank and I am trying to start a dry fuel delivery. This was found after I tried to start again and no go. I loosened a fitting...
Nice! Didn't realize I get a blog with my membership. I will attempt to record our adventures in travel through this blog.
We, my wife and I, decided to go full time RVing about a year ago now. We sold the house and disposed of all our worldly goods except for that which would fit in the RV. We owned a 2005 Coachmen Sports coach which is a class A diesel pusher. It has served us very well for the past year as our home.
The Rest Of The Story
Back in Michigan and have enjoyed the summer, what we have had of it since we spent 6 weeks in the Arizona heat.
A week after getting home we spent 4 days sitting with a 2 and 4 year old that have much more energy than we do. It was great to spend the time but now we realize that we are a little older than they are.
First trip out since returning was to Tawas Point SP which we both love. Each day was a ½ mile walk out to the point along...
