Owning a Class A Toy Hauler

Posted 03-12-2022 at 07:18 AM by Jim2015

My wife went out and bought us a Newmar Toy Hauler. We use it to take our motorcycles with us to various motorcycle events around the country. We had thought, what a great way to save money, instead of having to rent hotel rooms and places to stay, we can just bring it all with us.

We had thought, the price tag of $200,000 would be an investment since we are both retired now and have the time to travel. The price tag is just the first in a series of things we have had to face. I...

waiting for spring After Covid

Posted 03-07-2022 at 03:08 PM by miwok

It is March 2022 and we maybe have lived thru the most crazy time in our lives yet, losing friends to cancer, old age, and accidents. AND the other thing.
We are ready to get going and now prices for fuels has gone crazy.
So grand excursions may turn into shorter trips and still there are a lot on the list. Have a good year!

I'm so sorry

Posted 02-22-2022 at 09:14 PM by Misjudg

Please, please! I want to say how sorry I am for my language in my last post. I was very upset and I should have stopped and cooled down before I vented. You've all been so helpful and supportive towards me and that was completely 100% rude and disrespectful and I promise you I will do my very best for that not to happen again. Please accept my apology. I'm so grateful I have you guys I can't even begin to tell you and it's got me through a lot. I want to do nothing to offend or upset anyone...

Trying to look at this as an adventure....😶

Posted 02-20-2022 at 09:35 PM by Misjudg
Updated 02-20-2022 at 10:33 PM by NLOVNIT (multiple instances of vulgar language)

I'm trying to look at this as an adventure. I know it's been a while since I've posted, but this girl's been going through it. You know RV life is not really been an issue for me until I had to start boondocking. See living here in the Bay area, and I've lived here my whole life, I've never struggled like I do now. It's gotten so crazy expensive. I never thought 10 years ago my life would be going down this road. But it's been spiraling downward for a long time now. I've been...

Happy and thankful

Posted 11-02-2021 at 11:46 PM by ninipaw

Warm and content, and dry as can be
As I listen to the rain falling on my RV
Skipping thru memories, some good and some bad..
To question the direction life has taken, but then know so well
It goes full circle and for me that is swell..

Well I am still learning...

Posted 09-05-2021 at 04:25 PM by Misjudg

Today it's all about the awning. I'm trying to figure out how to get my awning down cuz it's hot and I want the Sun not pounding on my front door and I also want to protect my plants. I still have to download my manuals for my appliances and stuff so I can start researching and studying that. I really really really really really want to figure out what the heck is wrong with my hot water heater and why the switch keeps popping there's so much I want to learn and do but you know what when...

A vaca? No way. ...well maybe.

Posted 08-10-2021 at 10:43 AM by Misjudg

I need a vacation. The stress of everyday life and two jobs I need it desperately. I just can't afford it. Maybe a long weekend. Obviously I wanna road trip in my RV (haven't named her yet). I don't want to go real far, but go spend time where I hope to spend the rest of my days. It's about 5-6 hours north, pretty straight shot after San Francisco Golden gate bridge. I know it's going to be a long while before I can relocate, if it ever happens, but just being away where I love so much would do...

I am a ding dong

Posted 08-08-2021 at 11:32 PM by Misjudg

The reason why I haven't posted a plug in a while is because I couldn't figure out how to get to it! I'm a ding dong so I think I figured it out cuz obviously I'm writing right now.
Okay so I got all my stuff for my exterior propane setup get ready to install the valve and I need another adapter so it fits on the flexible hose so that was frustrating and I couldn't go another day without propane so I went and got some. Yes I drove the big girl. I was absolutely terrified I was all by myself...

Posted 07-18-2021 at 12:38 PM by Misjudg

N stuff..

Hmm I think I will do a blog! How fun! My learning as I go blog! So excited.

So the last two week has been traumatizing. With that being said....I have made it only because of the forms on this website.
I'm going to attempt driving it to get propane. Stand by for that one. Hopefully all the advice I received will be enough. I can do this!

I decide to write this to hopefully someone else can see how amazingly easy this task is. Start to finish 2 hours, 2 people 1 ladder.

17 and 18 pics are here for opening the case and finding the plug

19. UNPLUG THE UNIT

20. Remove the temp sensor, it simply pushes into the coil . Be very careful not to damage this. Make note of sensor location so you can reinstall it in similar location in new unit
21. Set new unit in place...

Front HVAC Swap and general maintenance on 2014 Fleetwood Discovery 40G 6-2017 PART 1

Posted 06-21-2021 at 02:12 PM by MEWright

Part 1 of 3 due to limit of picutres per post

Our front AC went out at the end of the season last year. Due to covid, non-use and general lack of caring I never got around to taking it in to the shop. I did have a mobile company come out and diagnose it as “A Dead Soldier” and not worth trying to fix. They also told me that to do a proper write up for it to qualify for warranty they would charge 400 and take it off the bill when I did the repair. The shops I call wanted upwards of...

Wrapping it up

Posted 05-06-2021 at 09:15 AM by TexasJeff

So, it's been about 6 or 7 months since taking delivery of our new 2021 Forester LE motorhome sold to us by RV Wholesalers and it's now time to close out the buying experience blog.

Where we left off:

Back in October we had punch list items that we asked RV Wholesalers to submit for us. The terms of purchase were that we would find a RV repair shop to do the work and then submit the repair costs to RV Wholesalers who would, in turn, submit to Forest River. The caveat...
