Redwolf Journeys - West Texas - Sept 2020 #1

Updated 10-03-2020 at 06:45 PM by Red Wolf

After buying the Allegro in late June, we did a couple of weekend trips in July and August.

Itís now September and weíre on our first long trip - 8 days, 1200 miles. Austinís to Monahans Sandhills State Park, down to Maverick RV Resort between Big Bend National and State Parks, and then heading home with a stop at Kickapoo Caverns State Park.

First leg of the trip went well enough. Avoided interstates by taking Texas highways out to Midland, and then hopped on I-20...

Redwolf Journeys - the Allegro

Posted 09-22-2020 at 08:42 AM by Red Wolf

We're Mike and Kat, and we go by Redwolf Journeys.

We bought our first RV 20 years ago in 2000 - a Coleman (Fleetwood) Utah popup. Bought it used and sold it 6 years later for the same price we paid for it.

in '06 we bought our second RV - a new Jayco 28FKS, which required a truck upgrade to pull it. 1200 lbs empty on the hitch, because the kitchen was in front. We traded in our '98 Ram V8 for an '02 Ram 2500 diesel.

In March of 2014 we got caught...

Still waiting...

Posted 09-05-2020 at 08:40 AM by PrettyBabe

The shop was able to get her cranked up and pulled into the shop (Phillips Auto Group). Theyíre looking her over now. But the service guy did mention it could take them until next week to look it over. I just miss her and ready to go on to the next steps of restoring her. Trying my best to be patient

Repaint Vogue 2 Motorhome

Posted 09-05-2020 at 08:30 AM by PrettyBabe

Should I repaint it the same color? What do you think about all the blue lines being pink and the background white?

Correct Information ℹ️

Updated 09-06-2020 at 07:48 PM by Lt Dan (Links Removed)

The year of the vogue motorhome is 1984, not 85. So if anyone knows anything about 1984 Vogue 2 , please comment below. The motorhome is currently still at the RV service shop. I will be giving them a call Monday.

Full-Time Living in a part-time TT!

Posted 08-07-2020 at 12:20 PM by justsue

Decided to sell my house and move full-time into a fairly new Travel Trailer, so in November of 2019, I finally did that.

I thought it would take a couple of months on the market before it sold but I got a full offer within a week and they wanted to move in right away! I really had to scramble to get all of my 3 bedroom house and two sheds into storage units (plural)! My niece and her boyfriend came to help me and I swear I don't know how we accomplished all that but we did! ...

The Cabin Fever Cure -- 07/17/2020

New Mexico: Where Everybody is Somebody

Like almost everyplace in the US, the Chicago area shut down in early March. By May we were getting pretty stir crazy, so of course we decided on the perfect, safe solution: Road Trip!

We threw a mental dart at the map and it landed on New Mexico. Having heard good things about the state parks...

1st Outing in the Spirit

Posted 07-08-2020 at 06:41 PM by JHouk

We decided to take our first little excursion to try output our motor home. Just a short trip to Biloxi, Mississippi. Majestic Oaks, a nice quite park with all the expected amenities. We got set up easily enough and things went well for a couple hours until all of the 110 power went out. Iím pretty handy and realized that it was probably just a breaker that clicked off. I searched everywhere for breakers. Inside outside, all the storage bins. I could not find them anywhere. My wife pointed out a...

RV'ing The full story!

Posted 07-08-2020 at 06:26 PM by JHouk

Well, I bought my first Motor Home a real nice used 2007 Winnebago Spirit. It only had 25,000 miles on it and had not been used much in a while. I was super excited to get on my way back home to Mobile Alabama from Waynesboro Mississippi. Everything's going great the motor home is running good, transmission working just as it should. BANG BANG! What the crap is that loud noise. Sounds the tires just exploded. Well one of them kind of did. The tread started coming off the tire. I stopped and checked...

Update: Wet Bay Woes -- 06/10/2020

Our trip out west has been great so far.

Oh Cr@p, It's Leaking!

Great, that is, until we discovered our recently rehabbed wet bay had sprung a leak.

We have been staying at full-hookup parks en route, so there really wasn't much call to fill the onboard water tank. When starting out, it was only loaded with several gallons, just enough to flush the toilet and wash hands.
