Today is Wed April 17, Day 6 of the trip. All is good with the world. We took the Vicksburg Civil War battlefield tour. This place has some history. Really great views of the river from the hills. Lots of memorials and statues. We will be going to the casino for fun and dinner. Started watching "Lincoln" last night (how appropriate). Will finish it tonight. It just fits right in with this place.
Will post some pixs when we learn how to use the new camera for posting. More...

What ever will be, will be....Today is day 4 of our trip. We traveled from Cantonment (Just north of Pensacola, Fl,) to Vicksburg, Mississippi. Weather was decent, but the govenor of Miss. needs to be shot for the sad, sad condition the roads are in. I remember crossing country from San Diego to Miami 40 years ago and I think those same bounces and pot holes were here then.Met up with my cousins here at the Ameristar Casino RV Park. And no, we won't be gambling...We need a rest day and the cousins...

Slowed down by the weather. Mother nature kicked us in the butt and we came to a halt in Cantonment, FL. Gary & ANN are the best emergency hosts. Had a great time. Watched movies,
ate too much and visited not enough.
Will be leaving here tomorrow heading for Miss.
KEEP ON KEEP IN ON.

We made it to Pensacola yesterday pm. Ann & Gary have offered to put us up until the weather clears. Just watching the tornado watches.
Yesterday was another good day. Driving was good, not too much wind and no rain.
Will post more tonight....

Went and picked up the 2005 Southwind yesterday from the storage lot and plugged it in to the new 30 amp service that was just installed. Well, the GFI in the bathroom smoked and went off, the frig wouldn't work, the TV wouldn't work, and the microwave didn't work. A few minor electrical problems to say the least. Hubby went and got two new GFI's, installed them, and they are now fine.
Went to Radio Shack and purchased new fuses for the micro, it still didn't work. The frig lost its memory...

Day one of our cross country trip. We are in Tallahassee at the Big Oak RV Park. Had a windy drive up here. Not too much rain, but way too much wind. We are just chillin after a quick Wendy's dinner. It's finally great to be on the road and all the packing up stuff is done. We plan on seeing some friends (Gary & Ann), we met last Sept in Daytona at the Rally, just north of Pensacola tomorrow. Day one down, many more to come...

We will be starting our travels in about 2 weeks. This blog I hope will become a log of our daily escapades of the next 6 months.
Our trip should take us from home (The Tampabay are of Florida), all across the country and up to Moab Utah, then up to Washington State. We will see how this actually works as the days go by...
Happy trails to all.

The install started at 7:00am on Wednesday in Davenport, IA at Interstate power. There the Allison transmission needed to be coded to send a signal when road speed hit approx 8 MPH. This signal is used by the new computer HWH installs. This process took all of 10 minutes, and I made the short drive to HWH headquarters in Moscow, IA.
My plan was to get the Air leveling system, which allows leveling the coach using either Air or Hydraulic, one or the other, not both. Air leveling has a lot...

Just a note to fellow rver's to be aware of the lack of instructions in the roadmaster brake pro instruction manual. during a recent trip to the keys, i BURNED OUT ALL MY BRAKES ROTORS AND TIRES to the tune of $1700 all because in the manual for the roadmaster brake pro it neglects to tell you to make sure to pump out all of the vacume in your brake system each time you start for the day (hookup to tow) and test the system using the test button at least three to five times. All of which is not mentioned...

I am going to describe my media setup. I had this system working in my previous RV (2008 Fleetwood Discovery 40x), but was not as robust as I am describing. The features streaming features where all available, but the source selection was not. Since the Fleetwood was a RF signal, I was limited in how I could wire it. I setup a dedicated media server that ran off the middle television, and did the wireless streaming. Now that I have my 2013 Newmar Dutchstar, there is a lot of improvement. Below I...

Joan and I have completed 5 weeks of volunteering here at Echo Bay and so far it's been everything we could have hoped for. The upper campground where we are located is quiet and comfortable; the temps have ranged from mid to high 30's overnight to low 70's when the heat wave passes over. Some mornings we've woken up to see snow on the mountain tops across Lake Mead.
Usually we start our workday in long sleeves, but are quickly down to short sleeves. Lots of blue sky and the occasional...

We made it back to Vegas on Thursday(10th)….7 days, 2600 miles, 5 hotels, 8 McDonalds' sweet tea stops, 1 detour to Carlsbad Caverns, and 12 friends well-met and visited with along the way! All in all it was a great trip back to Florida for the holidays, but we are glad to be home in the RV.
We took a few days and just relaxed, then took care of a few maintenance issues such as replacing the black tank valve in the water bay and getting our Dish Network/Winegard Antennae properly...

I arrived home this evening to hear the CO2 alarm screaming from inside "Ernie" who is parked out front awaiting random moments of attention from me. This is not what I had planned this evening.
It appears something was on that drained the life out of my battery because as soon as I turned the engine on it went off. A few seconds after turning the engine off it went back on. A few Google strokes & it's my battery. This battery is not even 2 wks old.... why on...
