so now to the frunt cap i fond a 2006 excursion but as you can tell the cap is not made for a rv that is 12.8 high so its back to making parts bye hand

most rvs the wight is the same 8.3 8.4 so if you wanted a newer cap its not hard to find a newer year and go for it all wiring was made new some used here and there

you can see the part i made to fill in the top

sorry looks like the pics of the floats are to big well have to play with them to add them latter but here you can see trying to get every down to see what i had to work with

i an 6.2 high and the inside roof height was 6.3 i know i would not be putting the ACs back on the roof as i had a large solar system going up there so i raised the roof by 16 inc 3 or 4 more then the top of the ac would be and started filling in

9/5/12

It was a beautiful day. The week was warming up nicely and the seastate was calm, so you gotta be on the water!!!!

We took the Balmy Days out of Boothbay Harbor for the 90 minute, ten mile trip through the Bay of Maine. The trip out was beautiful and we were able to view several new lighthouses as well as a better view of the RAM Light that we had seen from the coast a few days ago.

The Maine Event - Boothbay Harbor

Posted 09-23-2012 at 12:04 PM by TAKINBETZ

9/8/12 - Shore Hills Campground

By the time we got the car secured on the dolly it was 10:30 and we were on our way south. It was foggy and got foggier as we traveled past the harbors heading to US 1. We traveled about 120 miles south through interesting little coastal towns … which was probably beautiful… if we could see it! Went across a very tall bridge which probably had a beautiful view …. if we could have seen it!

Arrived in Shore Hills Campground outside of...

The Maine Event - Cranberry Island

Posted 09-23-2012 at 11:44 AM by TAKINBETZ

As we drove out of the park this morning, the weather forecast read “dense fog”. It looked clear where we were and our plan was to hop a mail boat ferry to Great Cranberry Island for the day. As we got nearer Seal Harbor we could see the fog over the water and it remained foggy as we drove to Northeast Harbor to catch the ferry.

We boarded the Beal & Bunker Mail Boat providing public transportation to Great Cranberry and Islesford (Little Cranberry) Islands. It carries mail...

The maine event - acadia

Posted 09-23-2012 at 11:14 AM by TAKINBETZ

9/3/12

We left Gorham NH on Route 3 heading to Maine and the drive was absolutely beautiful. The road stretches out before you, undulating long sweeps up and long sweeps down.

As we came through Rumsford Falls, there was a truck in a pull off selling Moose Horns. Dave thought they would look good on the front of the RV!

BAAH HAABAAH(Bar Harbor)
Arrived in Baah Haabaah around 2:30.

Apparently the only way...
