Limbo

While I am thinking of a title for my blog, I'll go ahead and blog on. I want to think of an amazing, eye-catching, original title.

Right now I'm sitting at an RV Park at Gila Bend, Arizona, in the Sonoran Desert. This is one of my favorite places on earth; I've been here since December 10, 2008. My plans to leave on April 10, 2009, went ahead, and I went to the Painted Rock Petroglyphs to spend the next 10 days.

The ten days I stayed there were an amazing experience....

LIVING IN THE CLOUDS
Our adventures at Vance Toe River Lodge Campground

Back in June, 2008 Brett bought a used 1995 35’ Dutchman Classic 5th Wheel with a 14’ Slide out. Thinking it would be great to have for short weekend trips away. Things changed over the months while the camper sat untouched. In December 2008 Brett and I made a trip to my home state of Indiana. On our trip back to Florida we made a stop in the Smokey Mountains and then on to his dad’s place

I have a Blog??

Posted 04-25-2009 at 09:48 AM by Robin_M

I just discovered that everyone has a Blog on this new forum software, should they choose to use it. Neat.

This may be the only post I ever make to mine, as just reading the forum messages takes a LOT of time. Still, I'd like to let others who may somehow stumble across this post that I DO have a web site dedictated to our Monaco Diplomat. I enjoy keeping it up...

Camp with a view

There are some things in this world I just don't understand. Why bottled water from a city tap sells for big bucks just because it's labeled 'mountain', why tiny trailers often cost more than large ones and why people choose to camp in a fancy parking lot for 40 dollars a night when you can camp for free with a view.

All things being equal, I'd prefer free water from the tap and a great view. Leave the asphalt campgrounds for others; I want to camp with a view.

Millennial boondocking - no what??

Camping with no services used to mean no water, power or sewer but times are changing! Last week we spent a few days at Wallowa state park in Oregon and while there was power and some other services in the campground, there was no cell or aircard service. Imagine my astonishment - no internet! Getting connected involved driving about 12 miles and mooching off a local provider.

The state park was lovely and just barely opened for the season. While daytime temps were in the mid 60's,...
