Merry Christmas

Posted 12-19-2012 at 02:57 PM by riverbender

Well, my husband had his surgery and is on the mend. Once this has healed he has to have more surgery so it looks like he will be laid up for awhile! I am hoping he is well enough to get around for the holiday! We have presents to distribute!!
Our driveway looks pretty good now that it is done, we will have to bring in some road mix in the spring and dress the hill that is left. Maybe some ground cover is in order.

Christmas will be a somber one this year with the incident in Sandy Hook. We are from a town very close to that area, even though we are now an hour away, we still have family and ties to the area, If you could see it, it is such a quiet family community, it is just so hard to imagine something like that could happen there. If it can happen there, then it can happen here, too. It makes me so sad to think that our world has come to this with such frequency. We were still reeling over the mall shooting, the theater shooting, college shooting, the high school shootings and how many others in the recent past? Is there an answer to this problem? Some say ban guns, others say arm yourself. I don't know what the answer is, but I know I give hugs and kisses much more frequently now, I never stop thinking of my granchildren and all the children that we see every summer in the park and how it would affect me had it happened to anyone of them. I can not imagine what it must be like for the parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends of the victims of this tragedy. They are all victims, too. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers as you celebrate the holidays.
Despite it all, I wish you all a Merry Christmas, I will do whatever it takes to enjoy the Holiday if for no other reason than not letting this evil win.
