Only two weeks to opening...yikes

Posted 03-29-2012 at 08:32 PM by riverbender

We have been working like mad to get everything done. The power company turned the power on a week late, set us behind, and even with the warmest week in March I can remember, we are struggling to get everything done. Not in a small way because of the decision to remodel the last restroom. If you ever need something to slow down progress, bite off a project too large to comprehend! Once we got the building gutted, we realized the project was going to be larger than we thought. The building was attacked by post hole beetles and we had to replace more than we bargained for. So our $3,000.00 project just went closer to $10,000.00. Good news today, our computer guy came today and got the security cameras back up and running. They have been out since the storm last August. It is really too bad we need them, don't you think? First day we had them we caught someone stealing wood. She paid for two bundles and took....eight. And we have more eyes on the game room, the kids behave better in there just knowing the cameras are on them.
People still go into the corner where the cameras don't reach, but computer guy is coming back in a couple of weeks to put in another camera to fix that problem.
Next weekend the seasonals will start coming in to clean up and set up for the season. It will be so nice to see every one. It gets crazy lonely around here in the winter, the only people we see are each other. (that's why we go south for the rv show, see new faces meet new people.) I look forward to seeing them all, but especially the kids. It amazes me how much they grow in six months!
I hope I can find time to write once the season begins, I work crazy hours, 9am to 8 pm during the week and 8 am to 10pm weekends, and no days off. But if I do find time, that could mean we aren't busy, that would be far worse!
In case I don't get back, enjoy your summer!
