Tootling around

We are recently retired and began tootling around Louisiana and surrounding states. We plan to visit each of Louisiana's State Parks. Favorites so far include Palmetto Island State Park south of Abbeville, La, Bogue Chitto State Park in East Central Louisiana and Tickfaw State Park in Livingston Louisiana, just off I-12.
We travel with Atticus, a 4 yo 45lb Goldendoodle. Atticus is very well trained and loves to hike and chase a stick in the water.
We usually take 1-2 week trips but are ready to do our dream trip - the route around Lake Michigan! Maybe next late summer, early fall.
Y'all come down to Louisiana! We think our State Parks are best Nov-Apr. Most, tho, do have splash pads or pools for relief from the summer heat, and there's always a festival of some kind nearby!
As we go along, I'm sure we will have lots of questions and we are so glad there's a place where likeminded folks can gather online to talk.
